“Ugh, Nice Watch”
GENERAL By Jesse H. on June 29, 2009 at 1:05 pm
Until this post, I’ve generally shied away from doing apparel posts. It’s not that I don’t have a style, its more that I’m too cheap and perpetually broke to develop it fully. I select my clothes and accessories very meticulously, and living in New York has forced me to be even more choosy about the impulse purchases I make. But as soon as I saw a tent for Flud Watches at the Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival, I immediately started justifying the expense by planning a list of things to fill my freshly emptied wallet (sadly, more money wasn’t really the most accessible choice).
I’d had my eye on the Tableturns watch series since I spotted it on a fan at SxSW (I really, really hate questioning another man on where he acquired a fashion item- it’s demoralizing- but the watch was too fresh, plus he wasn’t from any place close enough for us to meet again at a future function- with me subsequently being called out on my style-biting). The combination of not having to wait for an Internet order, my desire to look dapper enough backstage and perhaps the beer and burritos in my belly had me throwing my credit card on the counter as if I could stand to max out a few accounts.
Luckily, Flud watches are not only stylish, but pretty decently priced. I dropped $60 (discounted $10), for a good-looking, sturdy one that will hopefully pay off in countless compliments and exaggerated feelings of self-satisfaction. Maybe then I’ll have enough confidence to forget my financial woes and go shopping a bit more. I mean it worked for Kanye.

I always had my eyes on these watches. The Radio Raheem watch was ill.
peep how they named the Trice watches ‘4080′
*Tribe watches
Is this the Toronto brand?
If so, the turntable shit is basically a sticker on the front… looks mad cheap in person
Yall hear the rumor bout Drizzy Drake and the false ACL injury?
Word is, he really “earned” his record signing last week and the ACL story was a bit of PR genius to keep him from looking too Perez Hilton
Oh well
Everybody has to walk the plank in the entertainment business - jus axe will smith (6 degrees of separation)
@ Turn, not sure where they’re based, the Tableturns (mine at least) looks really nice, definitely not a sticker.
Yeah 4080’s are dope, I already have the Turntable watch. I am deciding between the 4080’s and the boombox for my next one.
Hate them. Can’t explain why, I just cant ever bring myself to like em.
fresh beats!

Contra- just the Tableturns or all of them?
industry rule # 4080!!!
I can dig it.
I have the same watch above and I’ve lost track of the compliments I’ve gotten for it. Can’t lose with that pick up.
Was that you staring at my watch during SXSW?
I DJ’d at Digiwaxx/Zune party. I performed at the Raw Word Records showcase. I had a few other things going.
My girl got me that watch for xmas. She was shopping at some boutique and had convinced me to come with her. I saw this watch in the case and just said check this out. She told me to get it and she’s got it.
I have had a lot of people strike up conversations over that watch.
Mine is has the black leather band.
I have the non-turntable 33 1/3rd watch. Sh*t is fresh
I been spinning for 11 years and I always avoided clothes and accessories that scream “Look at me! I’m a DJ!” EXCEPT for the headshell bottle opener keychain. That bitch go with me everywhere:

I am with you on not sporting “Look at me, I’m a DJ”-gear. If it wasn’t a gift from my girl who was stoked on it, I’m not sure if I would have picked it up.
If Flud wants to send me the 4080, I wouldn’t be mad.
