Prayers: Michael Jackson
AUDIO By Gotty™ on June 25, 2009 at 9:00 pmWithout being overly sentimental or personal, thoughts & prayers go out to his children & the whole Jackson family.
Regardless of the accusations and misconceptions about him, we’re about music and it’s that part of his legacy that we honor. No other single recording artist in present generations has had a greater impact on music.

say it ain’t so
I keep getting word that MJ has passed…
sad sad day
*sheds tears*
Kinda sad man.
A aggin grew up on the J5 & Mike’s solo music.
All clitches aside, simply the greatest of all time. Thank you for the Moonwalk and the pop n lock routines, I learned from your music videos, that’s all I got to say.
@Gotty, sorry about the posts earlier on, I was merely jesting with you, no malice intended, I just like to wild out like that sometimes, peace.
http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lanow/2009/06/pop-star-michael-jackson-was-rushed-to-a-hospital-this-afternoon-by-los-angeles-fire-department-paramedics–capt-steve-ruda.html
TMZ said it first. LAT confirmed it.
rest in peace MJ
how accurate is TMZ typically?
yahoo and nytimes are saying he’s just hospitalized
R.I.P MICHAEL JACKSON…. THANKS FOR THE HISTORY..
R.I.P…to THE MAN!!…
No disrespect, but I said that those o2 shows in London weren’t happening….but never did I think it’d be because of this!!!
nvm, they both just got updated…oh boy…say it ain’t so
The news of this actually gave me an upset stomach. I’ve never felt quite like this about the death of someone I never met. That says a lot about the man’s musical legacy.
Speaking of that, this is a great mixtape. I had it and lost it, so I’m about to replace it right now.
@D, did you get a ticket for one of those O2 shows, they sold out so fast.
I always wished they did a video for Human Nature, remember the clip in Moonwalker? Man I always hoped for a full length video, that song hits so hard, those Steve Pocorro strings, they sound like something out of a dream.
Damn, he’s gone.
Just stepped outside and saw two grown ass men crying…
this is sooooo fucked up.
this guy was a musical hero of mine.
he never raped those kids, fuckin opportunists.
RIP to the god. “He Made Thriller” © Dave Chappelle.
Anybody mention anything about things happening in three is getting kicked in the nuts.
First real concert I ever went to was the Jacksons.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victory_(The_Jacksons_album)
^ That album, all the males together on stage. Had to be around 1984-85.
Whole family went & it was @ UT-Knoxville which is a big ass stadium. And it was the first time I saw that many people holding up lighters & all the pyro effects of the stage show…crazy.
I grew up on that man’s music. His spirit & energy, at his prime, made the world a better place. Michael Jackson created anthems! RIP
And don’t get it twisted: he’s gone in the physical form, but he will live forever! Dude is the baddest to ever do it!
Regardless of whatever, no other artist in the history of recorded music had a star run that shined brighter than Michael Jackson’s in his prime. Big up Motown 25 & the Thriller world premier on Ch. 4’s Friday Night Video’s{the hood didn’t have cable then lol…..}
R.I.P Mike
@Paw – no my man. When I heard the news about 50 shows, I was like ‘yeah right’…
I’m a massive MJ fan but I’m also a realist and I just couldn’t see it happening…
All those people that paid thousands…sheeitt..
On my life..the Bad concert is (not was) still the BEST concert I’ve seen in my life EVER….
Whether he did or didn’t do the things he was accused of is for another time, he definitely did put plenty of joy in peoples lives over the years. RIP MJ.
Celebrity is a fucked up way to live.
@Gotty, that link leads to stuff on Arches and Latin, we back on that topic again? :P
I learned to pop n lock, moonwalk and do all that robotix thanks mostly to Michael Jackson.
When his music videos would premier for the first time back in the 80s and 90s like Thriller, BAD, Black or White, folks would rush on home to catch the premier on TV.
Moonwalker on the Arcade and on SEGA Genesis were class too.
Has anyone seen the footage of him honouring James Brown at the BET awards a few years ago?…they played that the other day…that brought tears to my eyes man.
CNN = MJ playlist…still don’t like the song Black or White.
I disagreed with his actions but I’ll be damned if anyone comes close to him musically for me…I feel like a bit of magic has gone…
My Mum always tells me about the time Thriller was premiered..and as great as my parents are, I didn’t have to ‘tell’ her what to do…she taped it for me and I remember watching it the next morning with the curtains closed…that ish messed with me..lol…ahh the innocence of youth…
@D, those O2 tickets went just like that.
I never went to any of his concerts, couldn’t afford it at the time, but damn when he came with BAD tour, the whole freaking world went crazy.
But they stripped him of his wealth and glory, gradually, over the years, and that’s what makes it so sad.
There is still stuff in the vault from the Quincy Jones and Rod Temperton days. BAD was supposed to be a triple CD event. Maybe we will finally get to hear all that magic.
Wow Rest In Plush….truely a sad moment for the greatest entertainer of all time….man what a yr already….
RIP to the GOAT on some pop ish.
The man revolutionalized music, bought the Beatles and boned Elvis’s daughter. Thats a GOATS resume.
RIP to the G.O.A.T.
How long before rumors of Mike faking his death make the innernuts rounds?
Rest in peace MJ!
wow. rest in peace
R.I.P. Mike.
I hate being sad…. lets hope Lisa Salters booty makes an appearance tonite!!!!!
bye bye MJ
but y did this ignant dude just say who gets the beatles?
Love that Man and his music
God Bless, MJ!!
R.I.P. Micheal Jackson
damn. The king is dead. Long live the king.
Very sad day. MJ was bigger than life growing up as a kid. I always kinda wished he’d come back to reach the heights of some of his earlier successes. God bless.
Jackson bought the Beatles songbook from under the nose of Sir Paul McCartney in 1985 — only two years after the men had released a duet called Say Say Say.
The deal ended their friendship, with Sir Paul complaining that he had to pay to perform his own music in America.
Jackson paid only $47.5 million for the 251 Beatles songs, plus the rights to another 4,000 tunes, which were part of a company called ATV Music.
He merged ATV with Sony’s publishing company a decade later, during another bout of financial troubles. Analysts have since valued the Sony/ATV catalogue at $1 billion (£570 million).

Peace out MJ. You were aiight before you turned white and wierd.
Gonna listen to “I Wanna Be Where You Are” just as soon as I get home from work. One of my favorite MJ cuts. One of the greatest EVER. The man had more talent in his pinky than most to ever do it.

funny sidenote, I’m trying to explain the significance of Michael Jackson to my kids (10, 7, 3; yeah ok the 3yr old is along for the ride). So I throw on the Thriller vid, followed by many others, but I wanted to first to catch their attn. My 7 yr old says, thats not Michael Jackson; he looks all weird, thats not him; he’s lighter and has longer hair.
hehe, crazy.
lol, just read this from RAGGA; cosign.

Despite all of his problems personal and otherwise, I thought he would live forever. I can’t even process this right now. I’m probably gonna go through a whole bottle of Firefly before it’s over with, for real.
MOONWALKER STREAM
http://www.justin.tv/vandread364
What scares me the most is that my grandmother just said that she has seen 2 things she thought would never happen in her lifetime:
A Black President and MJ dying.
I asked her if she’s been calling Carlitta Durand’s mother, because she just said the same thing.
Damn, this is fucked up. R.I.P. MJJ and FF.
I really didn’t think James Brown would die. But when he did, I knew everyone’s time was limited.

Listening to Essential MJ right now thinking damn
This morning in my kitchen at 6.56, I shed a single tear.
next to the obvious tracks, I always loved:
Blood on the dancefloor
It’s so sad to hear about Michael Jackson. As a dancer, I’m performed almost every one of his hits in some form or another. A lot of celebrities have died recently, but he’s the first one that had a big impact on my life personally. It’s a really weird feeling. Anyway, nice post. ;)
Anyone got that DJ Finesse “I want you back” blend with Usher’s U Dont have to Call?? That blend is vicious..
Rip MJ
THE KIND OF PERSONAL CONNECTION HE HAD WITH THE PEOPLE IS EVERY MUSICIANS WET DREAM. TRULY ONE OUT OF ONE (1/1). bet all those assholes who were making fun of him feel real sorry, find another musical messiah now.
Its so so hard to believe Michael Jackson is no more. An Artist dedicated his whole life to become a Great singer or Brilliant dancer or Excellent songwriter or Amazing composer, Electrifying Performer or the biggest Superstar of all time. Or someone spend entire life to be known as a great social worker by helping poor & sick, homeless.
If U put everything together Its Magic , its Miracle , That terminology is called Michael Jackson —, A Great Artist & A Beautiful Soul .
A Phenomenon like him happens once in lifetime. We are lucky to be in this generation, we could tell our grandchildren:-
We were there!! When he moon walked the entire World. We love u Michael, we will always. You are immortal.
