With another semester wrapped tight in Durham, Mike Posner is apparently back in the lab. Fresh off his under appreciated Don Cannon and DJ Benzi mixtape, Matter Of Time, the MI native recently put his own twist onto Soulja Boy’s sing-a-long single, “Kiss Me Thru The Phone.”

Aside from the song sounding much better minus SB rapping off rip, Posner’s raspy singing voice is the ideal compliment to the keys and low bass hidden behind this poppy beat, making the song work well solely as an R&B cut. Not only that, but he properly personalizes the track by flipping the concept around, treating the girl on the other line as a trifle.

Since all Mike Posner does is make hits, you should expect nothing less from his take on the kid Soulja’s contribution to Casey Kasem’s Ryan Seacrest’s countdown.
