Since when did “ham” become slang?

At a club on the 102 the other day, an overzealous DJ kept praising acts with props via overhyped compliments like, “them boys was goin’ ham on that stage!” Since I ordered the same meat on my Subway melt earlier, something seemed out of place. Then I remembered Tone Tone had girls going ham about three months ago. Then, while recently digging for some new material, I stumbled upon Gotty™’s post & the masterpiece that is “Ham” by Mississippi emcee Skrilla.

The song is basically about porno fucking. It’s lewd, crude and features an uncredited female delivering one of the most explicit sixteens quite possibly ever recorded (“5’2, thick thighs, I love it when they circumcised…”).If Killer Mike’s bread and butter and a few typical verses from SL
Jones and Skrilla are what you’re checking for on this song, don’t expect to fill your plate. Instead, the same classy broad is also serving seconds on the chorus repetitively squealing, “I go ham on the dick, I go haaam.”
