These two songs always made me want to be a DJ.
Obviously, MC Breed’s original is so classic. But when former Dayton Family member Bootleg’s updated remake – featuring the Flint legend himself – hits immediately after…c’mon. The “Mo money mo…” refrain gets me every single time.
Unfortunately, 1 in 10 club DJs actually plays them these days. If I spun, these Genesee County classics would get back-to-backed at every show. Then, I’d put my feet up for 8 minutes and watch the music do the work dolo.
Immediately followed with a toast to Breed, of course.
