“A Hero Ain’t Nothin But A Sandwich…”
SMOKE BREAK By Gotty™ on June 8, 2009 at 9:08 amThe above video is proof of how you can go from hero to goat with one shot. I literally wanted to kick Courtney Lee in the nuts after he blew the bunny. Sure, it was a difficult shot…for me. I don’t care that he’s a rookie; Courtney Lee is still a professional. He’s probably been jumpin’ out the jump since late elementary school so he’s used to the altitude. He makes the big bucks so I fully expect him to make shit like this, possibility of goaltending by Gasol & all.
All in all, I need Orlando to win a game in LA & I still think they can. I remember counting them out after watching them blow two last-second games to Philly, only to see them bounce back & win that series. Last night, Mark Jack & the other announcers kept talking about the Magic’s resilency. Well, right now, I need them to bite their belt on some John Rambo shit & pull out @ least one win. David Stern’s made for TV scheduling of the playoffs, with a game every night, it’s got me spoiled. I’m conditioned to having championship-caliber basketball every night. It was hard enough to wait the required days between games one & two but I consider that to be part of the weaning process. Still, I’m not ready to leave the basketball teat yet so, Orlando, let’s goooo! Do not get swept in L.A.!
*End rant*

GO LAKERS!!! Kobe is getting that ring this year, believe that.
It’s funny how much crap he’s taking, when the Magic had been missing easier shots all game.
c’mon Magic….
I hate that Lewis had such a brolic performance last night and they came up short. I also hated the fact that they went for the whole, “let’s foul at the end of the game & hope/pray the other team missed their free throws” approach. I rarely ever approve of that. There was 26.2 secs on the clock. Make a stop and go for the game winner. GROW A SET MAN (c) Autotune Killer
I think this might have been the most boring “close game” I’ve ever watched. I literally fell asleep on the couch late in the 3rd quarter after fighting off the zzzzzzzzzzzz’s all game only to wake up with a little over a minute left in the fourth, score hadn’t changed muched, watched the end from there on.
i respect Nelson, but I think bringing him back for the Finals is messing up the chemistry and flow the team has with Skip running the show….. and if they plan on giving JJ that much burn they need to put a Duke Jersey on him immediately so homeboy gets deja vu QUICK!!…. and I’m a HUGE duke fan
My friend and I both looked at each other last night and said, “Why the hell is JJ Reddick getting big PT in a MUST WIN nba finals game?!?!” I know Pietrus was out with “foul trouble” but JJ?!?! are you kidding me? You could see how scared/intimidated/confused he was over the tv.
And also, wasn’t this the same dude that rode the pine for almost the entire 82 game season; and now he’s playing NBA finals minutes?
Too bad the magic just came up a bit short…1-1 woulda been a lot nicer for the tv watching…but as I said, Stern has Lakers in 5 so we can all bow to Kobe.
that butchered layup was inexcusable.
but if the magic hit all their free throws during regulation, they win the game.
take away a few of the phantom calls the refs give kobe, they may have won.
i agree with black dr. house. initially i was for nelson returning cuz he did good in the 1st game, but now i’m starting to wonder if they oughtta stick with the formula that got them there. i’m an underdog & i root for my own kind. go magic.
and though it’s been pointed out many times, i must state this again…
…stan van gundy looks like ron jeremy.
how the fuk you gone blame a whole 48, excuse me 53 minutes worth of game time on 1 missed, tough ass lay-up from a rookie with a broken face… SMH… Them niggas just aint good enought & they’ll be lucky if they win 1 game
@The Black Dr. House Says:
Agreed, Nelson has a big heart and if he was healthy it would be a completely different series. Now add into the fact that Alston is upset with his p/t and this does not bode well for the Magic. They will play better at home but the Lakers are too long…. Lakers in 5.
Come on gotty….that shot was VERY difficult especially with only .6 seconds on the clock. No way that’s a gimme shot.
Plus lets not overlook the real reason the Magic lost: the egregious bailout calls on Kobe in the last five mins. BULLSHIT
People are trippin as if Lee lost the game. That shot had NOTHING to do with why Orlando lost the game. Matter of fact if we were to go back and watch the replay, it’s obvious the shot was a difficult one. We can’t blame Hedo, but the pass was actually caught behind the backboard. Lee had to make a crazy adjustment just to get the shot off.
I felt sorry for the kid…and considering the next three games are at home I think Orlando has a good chance to make this a series and avoid the sweep.
I could only see one “bailout call” for Kobe. The 5th foul charged against M.P. was a bad call, But, when have we seen a game called exactly the way we see it??.. It just doesn’t happen. I believe on that play the ref “thought” he saw M.P. riding Kobe. Hey, it’s a bad call, but here again nothing that caused the Magic to lose the game. This was no where as bad as the calls the refs were giving Lebron against the Magic.
There is no way Orlando will get swept, but I could see LA closing this thing out in 5. Bottom line after getting there heads handed to them last year, LA was not going to mess this thing up. There are blown opportunities, missed calls and everything else in between, but the better team usually wins. In every series this post-season, the better team has won. I don’t think there was one series that didn’t go the way it should have. Orlando is a young team and as long their core is kept in tact i don’t see why wouldn’t see them on the big stage again… (possibly next year) just like LA.
I hate the Lakers. Hate.Them.
Go Lakers Baby 2 Away!!!!!!!!!!!! Quit hating im out like the magic in 4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
F**king hate the Lakers. Was shouting at the screen at 4am in the morning when Lee missed this (yeah I’m in Britain).
Hope the Magic step up again in the next few games at home to tie it at 2-2 because they showed a bit of promise in this game. At least they showed signs that if they perform at their best they CAN make a series out of it.
I hate britain gooday bloat go lakers
