And how do you turn 366 days into eight years? Miss your deadline to report to federal prison, that’s how!

A deadline passed and Atlanta rapper T.I. had not gone through the gate to the federal prison in Forrest City, where he was to begin serving time for a weapons conviction. T.I., whose real name is Clifford J. Harris Jr., was to report to the minimum security prison on the complex by 1 p.m. to start his sentence of a year and a day. He performed Sunday night in Atlanta, where he told his audience he’d return in “366 days.”

A federal prisons spokesman said after the deadline that Harris was not listed in custody.

…and the story continues to take dramatic turns.

Really though, between Atlanta’s notorious traffic and probably a wacky GPS system, he probably just got lost. Ease up Arkansas; rappers are always late.

EDIT – TMZ says he was there early so…yeah. Who knows. I’m going to reach out to Alfamega. He’ll know.
