^ maybe they work, maybe they don’t. I was searching for Skillionaire & found these in the comments of a post.
Thirstin Howl The 3rd is an ILL-ass rap name, with lines that crack me up yo
so many quotables in this here song, but he had me from jump with the opening line: “My mind is stronger than the pictures in your muscle books with more manners than all of the Huxtables….”
“…overqualified for all technical institutes. I get the job done, when you barely make it past the interview!”
lol @ him posing in front of his ‘Lo Sport towel collection, as if that’s some sort of crowning achievement.
On a related note, I scoped out some Polo Bear t-shirts at the Ralph Lauren Outlet up norf. Can’t go wrong wif doz.
@ Gotty (and/or anyone else reading this): What do you use to run your iPod to your receiver/head unit in your whip?

Lo Life dog. Whole diff. mentality. You know this. There’s a 50/50 chance son still goes on runs lol.

I’ve got mine hardwired w/that $75 cable. Even as a cheap bastard, I can attest to it being the only way to go. I tried several of those FM transmitters but if you want the best sound, rock w/hardwiring. I actually had it & a head unit installed in my old whip. when that bitch died, I made sure to get the radio & cable out, then transferred it my current whip.
In fact, in my lady’s whip, we were using a transmitter & there was zero bass coming through so I’m gonna split the cost w/her to get a hardwire run to her head unit (newer model car so it should have the necc. output w/o having to replace that joint).
I got an Alpine, with a costly hardwire cable (I forget the name of the brand) that’s also compatible with other devices/plugs…it’s mad unsightly, lol, but I can also attest to the fact that the sound quality is better that way.
b/w him, Just, & 88’s collections, if I were to scope out what they got (pause), I’d prolly be real tight for the simple fact that I had the opportunity to cop some now-classic pieces from back in the day.
*sighs*
back when they didn’t have “hip-hop clothing” brands…it was just clothes that anybody could get, but it was the way you rocked it that made it fly.
haha, I remember boosting this dope waterproof Hilfiger pullover from Liberty House…wrapped aluminum foil around the sensor to keep it from going off…got home, popped tags, and rocked that sumbitch, lol
goddamn, peep how much this Polo 1992 5-panel cap is goin’ for: http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-Ralph-Lauren-1992-polo-5-panel-bike-cap-bright_W0QQitemZ130308666182
I got (had) an Alpine receiver with the iPod cord. Let you control the iPod through the head unit and kept it charged as well. Sound was superb coming through the infinity speakers.
awwwwwwwwww shit…i thought i was the only one who remembered the Polo Rican…
“Rockin the boat, the cradle, the house, in the eighth grade/ woulda rocked the bells, but i was more comfortable in straight legs”
^ I think I tried that same exact cable you got/had. I felt controlling the iPod from the head unit was kinda cumbersome, so I went with a cable that let me use the iPod directly instead.
The skillionaire poster used to hang up in the daisy bodega around 98′. I stole it later that year. He was my nigga. Had mad respect for him recording his old lp on a dusty 4-track.
lol
This joint brings back maaaad memories….good shit.
We used to sit around on the homie’s porch that he had wired with some outdoor speakers and listen to “Skilligan’s Island” over some Heineken and Newports. Dude always had some crazy lines that would make us wild out.
Needless to say, broads weren’t commonplace on that porch.
A dude from Boston name named Smitty AKA Smitty Boston used to produce for Thirstin Howl The 3rd back during the 4 track Tascam recordings @ Skilligan’s Island days. I heard the whole “Skillionaire” demo back in 1998/9 on a Sony MiniDisc recorder from my boy @ Tower Records.
Hilarious shit.
One.
This song is my shit, I thank Soundbombin 2 for introducin me to many an act. Thirstin is one of them
Found this on youtube, it should be the official video for this song.

Two L’s up!!! Thirstin’ always has bars for days.
The Polo-Rican
Real vintage Lo will run you/get you a grip fam. Believe that. To me, I can’t pay high dollar for beat up gear. Trust that I’ve been looking for an old school Lo spellout or USA hat with the flag on the back, but finding one in good shape & not going for a crazy amount is a pretty rare combo.
And nah I’ve got a Alpine too with the remote. It was cheap b/c I caught it on closeout. It’s way easier than working from the iPod IMO, especially if you just run playlists instead of going by artist, album or whatever.
hehe, powered by a $27 amp that I caught on openbox sale. CC dudes used to hold me the fuck down seriously. I miss that place already.
I saw him at Sputnik Fri and took a pic with him. http://www.myspace.com/wizecrack
Glad to see peeps recognize the real when it comes to THIII
wouldn’t be surprised if he still made runs today either LOL peace peace
