These kids The Paxtons are bound & determined to win me, you, the us over. And against my will, they’re doing it, straight because they reworked “My Boo” into a rap song. Between this & “Smoke,” they keep producing music that…you know how you initially hear a song and say “man, this is kinda wack…but it’s undeniably catchy & good.” Yep, that’s them. And sure it’s sounds like some early 90’s Father MC business & the singing female could easily be axed from the track, but the song works when you focus on that hard, repetitive clap & snap. Plus, the feel good vibe on the story of a one-night stand that doesn’t include the word “shawty” or mentions of material riches to woo her = point scored.
