I was reading the earlier J-Dilla blog. Did I read one of the comments correctly in that Mrs Yancey got similar health complications too? :(
I felt very sad, you know when J-Dilla’s health was declining and I read an interview with him mother, and she was saying all this care and medicine has got to be paid for.
It was pretty apparent that the bills were racking up, but what soured my mood was that J-Dilla had been making beats since 1996, some bonafide hit records too. Where were the royalty payments and wot not?
I could sense from Mrs Yancey’s words, that the bills were adding up and the money wasn’t exactly flowing in thick and fast.
I’m not going to go into all that stuff about how he was jerked by labels and certain so called friends for his due payments, since I don’t know the full monty.
All I’ll say though is that health is wealth.
