Coincidences happen.
Chances are the first thing you thought to yourself when you heard “rapper Dolla shot & killed” was one of two things. You either instinctively sang the chorus to his hit or you went into Biggie mode, applying the “dark-skinned Jermaine” theory. I did both when David D. hit me up last night, passing along the information that Roderick Anthony Burton II had been gunned down in L.A.
Denizens of our corner of the web will recall that Beware just posted one of Dolla’s latest tracks, “Georgia Nights” and, for me, that’s immediately what I reverted to. And when you do, focusing on the first verse, you realize that perhaps Dolla’s death wasn’t coincidence, but an event he knew was approaching faster than anyone else knew. The violence is the first few lines of the song & how recently Beware shared it make yesterday’s incident all the more eerie.
True, he was no innocent, but he was still a young man & an artist. And by that, Hip-Hop lost another voice.

Vandalyzm hit me with the knowledge soon as it happened yesterday. I swear I thought he was playing until I couldnt get through to anybody at Konvict cause all their lines were busy.
I’m pretty sure I met Dolla once upon a night out on Peachtree and didnt pay him very much mind. But he’s my peoples’ people so he’s good in my book.

LOS ANGELES - Police in Los Angeles say a man has been arrested for investigation of murder in the killing of Atlanta-based rapper Dolla at an upscale shopping mall.
Los Angeles police said in a statement Tuesday that 23-year-old Aubrey Louis Berry of Georgia was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport with a gun on Monday night. His bail was set at $1 million.
Los Angeles County Coroner’s spokesman Ed Winter said the man shot and killed Monday afternoon outside the Beverly Center was 21-year-old Roderick Anthony Burton II.

Burton’s publicist, Sue Vannasing, told the Los Angeles Times that the rapper was waiting at a valet stand after a shopping trip when he was shot.

anyone who follows you to another state to kill you eithers has a personal vendetta or was paid. According to first report the dude tried go back to a pistol which a federal offense on top of the murder. he drove to the mall in a benz and drove back and left it in parking. the paper trail for this fool is going to be coming out everyday till his court date.this is sad and nothing but foolishness.
