Melanie Fiona - “Give It To Me Right” Video
AUDIO By MZ on May 11, 2009 at 6:49 pmCorrine’s still outta pocket, Alicia’s doing Lord knows what, Laura’s on the horizon, Estelle’s reloading from last go around, Goapele’s surprisingly still in the mix, Keri still has a way to go & Chrisette managed to actually drop a second album. Leaving Melanie Fiona in the pole position as the “next” one on the female R&B scene. Next what remains to be seen, but she’s off to a good start. Here’s the official video for her lead single “Give It To Me Right.”
When her debut album, The Bridge, will drop is beyond me but they guarantee it’ll be in 2009. They can do all the promo they want, but the music will sell what it sells. So if you got it done, just put it out. Otherwise you might have to leak some NSFW pics to compete with these broads who can barely hold a note. It’s a brave new world out there.
Also, here’s a new song to help tide you over or help you form an opinion.

Leaving Melanie Fiona in the pole position
==================================
AYO!!! Nuff respect MZ for highlighting our Canadian songstress, she’s definitely talented and is destined to be in the top ranks of R&B artists.
spoke with her PR couple weeks ago. they said its dropping in July.
I can see a slew of people checking this post just off the title alone lol.
@ Gotty: Hey man, after watching this video she’s going to have pleeeeeeenty of new fans!!!
his song is very good. a hit when u heard one time u remember the chorus for sure!
@ Greums: My ninja, what up man!!! That link that you posted with the album from that French producer was dope, great stuff my dude.
Goapele’s surprisingly still in the mix

this is no surprise to cats in the know in cali..Goapele has more talent than anyone listed
that is an italian producer lol but enjoy homie ! peace.
melanie is the shit. yet another artist that the TSS fam put me up on.
….but let’s not forget that jazzmine sullivan is still out there as well, mz. her album was quite good…and she’s dope in concert.
…but let me clarify:
melanie > jazmine
..at least in looks. i couldn’t go wrong with either one of them on the mic…no pun intended.

@Ninjea Flea
what about new Cam & Slim Shady ? few words.
word up!
Yeah I’m not saying Goapele isn’t talented, but she hasn’t put a album out since 2006.
I didn’t like Jazmine’s CD too much, but Dream Big grew on me with the video.
I havn’t listened to Ayah yet so I didn’t include her. Carlitta Durand coulda gone up there though. Carlitta’s Way is dope.
Ayah is the truth; her Problem Woman mixtape and her album 4:15 are dope.
That gangsta grillz 2 is too LAD&WTK infested for me to listen to.
@ Sherm: You’re the FUCKING man!!! (no homo). Thanks for that Gangst Grillz 2, been waiting on that my ninja.
Yatch Music (real version on it) is classic ! pure ish
Gangsta Grillz 2 is dope homies ! O’Drama Thanks Giving
Jazmine’s album was good. Personally I’m kinda “enh” bout the Carlitta’s Way joint. Don’t get me wrong, it’s good, but it’s like a good dish that’s missing an essential seasoning.
Surprised folks forgot Marsha (,Marsha, Marsha). Her joint w/Cannon was fuego.
lmao @ bigga - u stay hatin on that whole bloodline
@ flea - no doubt, my ninja
@ OED All I can say about Marsha is she reminds me how dope Lauryn Hill was. Remember: it took the 2 chicks from Floetry to fill the void and opps created by L. Boogie’s meltdown.
Marsha’s mixtape was dope too. This just goes to show how many dope female R&B artists are outta pocket right now. Vivian Green’s m.i.a. too.
Sherm: I was about to pull a Cuban and bad mouth their mama. lol
