As announced today by Major League Baseball, Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Manny Ramirez was suspended 50 games for using performance enhancing drugs (PEDs).
I’m not shocked Manny.
Thank you for putting my assumptions to rest because at 36 years old I was skeptical of your dominance. I don’t care if it’s steroids or other PEDs, as your statement says. Your name is blemished regardless and you’ve joined the list. It’s sad though because now it’s protocol and six months from now, another cat will get pinched.
I’m now humming in my head a Queen tune that doesn’t usually reach the stadium – “Another One Bites the Dust.”

I’m trying to come up with the best player likely to have not used PED’s… I cant?? Baseball 1990-2010 never really existed.

Frank Thomas was clean. At least, that’s what I tell myself as a White Sox fan. He’s just a naturally big-boned, massive dude. Played football in College. He was also one of the players who was adamantly vocal and outspoken against PED/Steroids/HGH use in baseball and has been pushing for stricter testing and harsh punishments for those who have been caught since he entered the league. I’m hoping he was clean based off all that.
Why should I care? Like Mos Def said, Performance Enhancing Drugs enhance my entertainment.
ESPN reports he tested positive for a female fertility drug called HCG. Apparently, HCG is known for being a masking agent for steroids which is why it’s on the banned list. This implies Manny was a smart/sophisticated user who probably was on a cycling regime for the roids/HGH.
Damn damn.

I’m confident Manny only used to enhance his predator dreads and forgot it was illegal in baseball considering most days he doesn’t even know that he plays baseball.

…and I believe Manny’s story. It wasn’t elephant ball juice or nothing. Masking agent? Yes….sometimes….but like this cat on ESPN said, it’s definitely not a “smoking gun” as far as steriod use.
long as Jason Giambi, Rick Ankiel, Andy Petite and others got as pass from MLB, fans, media or all of he above, I don’t care if Manny Ramirez mainlined Ken Caminitti’s ashes. If we ain’t punishing across the board then let it ride.

No way Griffey is on that list.
The saddest part about this story is that Manny didn’t even need to take PED’s. He has a perfect swing. If you look at his numbers, they’re consistent across his career. He’s always hit above .300, always had around 30-40 home runs. I don’t want to believe this, but I just don’t know anymore with baseball.
Bonds aint need to take em either but he did.Its bad.I feel for the young baseball fans ,like under 12. This world must really seem rotten to them.
