On a daily basis, I get a lot of bullshit in my inbox.
Stuff that has ZERO relevance to what we do. Sorry, but I don’t care that Soulja Boy has a new ringtone or that Puffy videotaped himself on the crapper. Miss me with that.
On the other end of the Bell Curve, we get material that I feel obligated to pass along but I can’t always find the thoughts & words to frame it. That’s the case with this one. So just watch the clip above, read & then check to see when Karriem will be in your area.
I’m proud to present the first of a few videos that I’ll be sending out from legendary drummer/producer Karriem Riggins. Not only has he produced and worked with hip hop staples such as J Dilla, Common, Slum Village, Erykah Badu, Talib Kweli, Madlib and others, he also has played drums for jazz legends such as Herbie Hancock, Bobby Hutchinson, Donald Byrd, Oscar Peterson, and Ray Brown.
Starting in June, Karriem Riggins will be embarking on his “Virtuoso Experience” with legendary jazz pianist, Mulgrew Miller, and with the help of DJ Dummy and Pete Rock on select dates.
For more info on tour dates, the man & all the relevant material you need, check out www.karriemriggins.com

Miss me too
hahaha i still cant believe that tv is still trying to tell us what good and whats not, but real recognizes real, and eventually all truth comes out.. (reference to diddy, didnt care for diddy ever, what the fuck does he do, he would still be living in virginia if it wast for b.i. and it was just a matter of time for anyone to find him.. soulja boy and the whole new generation, i swear to god if ten years from now someone tells me the superman is a classic, they gettin the rick james treatmen) 0ne!
i remember reading somewhere (I swear its TSS) that Riggins completely outshines Questlove as a drummer. Any TSS fam cosigns or proof to that statement? I am curious to learn.
I think they’re two different types of actual drummers. Each has his nuances that makes him unique, as with anybody who plays an instrument.
