that’s a good track.
Much better but still not the em that we are looking for.
Em has gotten to Jay’s level where folks are just never satisfied with what he puts out.
I like this track. It will enter car rotation immediately.
7/10
@Contra
Thats what I said a couple of weeks ago, Em and Jay are the only to rappers that are not compared to anyone else, just to themselves and somehow its never good enuff. I think partly its the great expectation that we have for them now as opposed to when they just DID IT.
The track is stupid hot except for one thing…why can’t slim rap without the goofy f**king accent…I just want Em to sound like Em.
I’m finding it harder to look forward to Relapse. Nothing’s been spectacular so far.
This is a better track than the other stuff we’ve heard but it’s not that great - Em’s still rapping in that odd ‘comedy’ whiny voice and going on about vicodin and serial killer crap. Even though the rhyme schemes are impressive, as an artist who’s widely hailed as a genius you’d expect a little more development.
Just drop the accent already!!! How can he let one silly think possibly ruin the ENTIRE album…?
@ Cell : Agreed.
@ Conkrete: Remember when people used to bitch about Em trying to sound black. Remember fresh off the block, gun charge, pill poppin, Infinite flopped Em?
“I just want Em to sound like Em.”
People grow up. Things change. Let it go. He wont ever sound the same
that’s the slim shady’s voice ! yo peeps,
if u want slim it’s slim ! relapse’s slim shady
eminem’s voice was Sing for the moment, Lose Yourself, Till I Collapse
why can’t slim rap without the goofy f**king accent

that’s his new thing lol
If anyone else age 35+ (Em and Jay) were to try to rap, they’d be admonished. Anybody want to explain why they get a pass?
@ Gotty: Because Jay & Em have enough dickriders and fanboys who swear on their own lives that Jay and Em are “legends”, and that no matter what they put out it’s dope. The age nonsense in hiphop annoys me, if you’re over 24 you can’t rap anymore??? Fuck outta here, if the mucis is tight then who cares what year you were born.
I like this joint, but yeah….. 7/10.

I’m a firm believer that music know no age and if you are able to make good music , you should continue to do so. Hip Hop is the only genre that we do that in. And besides you also have to remember this, hip hop is really about….umm only 30-35 years old, and for the most part you really havent had that many artist in rap that have been old before lol. I mean if this here hip hop thing is still around 30 years later BELIEVE me, will drop this whole “too old to rap” mentality.
P.S. Everybody that has grown up on rap can’t identify with the same things that 25 and under club produces.
@ Cell: Real talk, but some of the 25 & under dudes are making dope music that all can vibe to, such as Wale. I’m an 80’s baby and it irks me when I hear somebody say “oh that dude is still rappin?”. Next time someone tells me an artist is too old to spit, I’ll tell them they’re too old to listen. That’ll fuck their head up.
This is the shit. Rain Man made a guest appearance lol. Em can’t be Em cuz people won’t let him. Now Em is Slim and people don’t want that either cuz he aint sounding like he did 10 years ago so just shut the fuck up and enjoy the got damn music.
Bun b is like 45 and he gets a pass cuz he can hang with the youngins. …
@500k
Nah dude I feel you (ll). I don’t believe age has anything to do with quality. The thing I hate the most is that somehow we ALL have to be on one accord of what we like or what’s “HOT”. Music should be like the Golden Corral, you should have a large variety and be able to pick and choose what works for you.
Dude’s lost it. Still doing his best Iron Shiek voice impression. Done. Finito. He needs to go listen to the Outro from Obie’s “Cheers” album and get back to that…..and sheesh, Dre’s corny as fuck.
@ Gotty: Masta Ace is 42…he was over 35 when he released both Disposable Arts and Long Hot Summer.
and the boys from the wu are certainly over 35
and i’m guessing most of Bootcamp
shit jay electronica is over 30
Rakim’s only a few years older than Jay
KRS is like 50
Commons old as dirt, so is Qtip
if eminem put out the slim shady lp today people will hate on it so it doesnt matter wat he does there will always be complaining its not hot enough
Shits just wack, what ya expect? This sounds like an imitation Dre beat from a few years ago. Hearing Dre at damn near 50+ rappin’ about weed with his gay ass and Em rapping like Osama is not poppin.
Like Dre’s verses better to be honest. Awell decent a suppose. Bit dissappointed. Prefered 3am
Yo on the Chorus what do they say
Dre drop that beat and scratch that……?
and in Dre’s first verse he says
I’m Dre from back in the day, from N.W.A. , from……….??
and at the end of that verse he also says
I’m still hungry and I’m back with a tapeworm
and we was happenin’ and rappin’ …………………..
and at the very end of the song, what are the last two Eminem lines?
I’ll get the thermometer, you get the…….?
Now baby just bend over, this won’t hurt a………?
If anybody can help me find these it’d be appreciated
I have hard time reading the comments about Jay. American Gangster was IMO, the best CD of 07. My expectations where pretty low after giving Kingdom Come a few months of spins. I’ll be jamming american gangster for years and years to come. 6/5
man people are right eminem has got to level where people wont be satisfied unless he raps like he did on dead wrong every time
this song knocks it will go hard in the car
yea n bun b stilll rips his features to shreds thats why he gets a pass bun b can rap circles around these new niggas
@Dexter
#1. scratch that break
#3. black and the grey
#2. ??? (I dont think he knew what he was saying either)
#4. bandages ( he slurred it)
#5. damn bit(ness)
Sheesh I feel like Im back in school. I curious to see my grade
^I’m curious
i’m liking this track…consider the album copped
@ Cell Thuropy
Thank you!
Now I just need to find #2
Man this track would be soooo much hotter if Eminem rapped normal like Dre. I’ma still bump this though fo sho!
Bun B is only 35, he said it in his Smoking Sessions interview. And agree that he always comes correct, the only wack Bun verse I’ve heard lately was on that Drake song.
I’m not a big fan of Em’s accent but I don’t hate it the way a lot of people around the internet seem to.
Is it just me or is Eminems accent because of the interview he did with Zhane Lowe on BBC radio..? After that he did the freestyle track ‘Im having a relapse’, which pretty much brought this whole new album about.
That track sounds like he’s making fun of Zhane Lowes accent (who used to rap himself, I bet he freestyled for eminem and thats what he decided to copy) and now the whole album is done in a weird new zealand / australian / english accent.
I bet after that interview he thought dudes accent was so funny he decided to do a whole album in that voice just for kicks.
Im guessing.
