“Careful What You Wish For” — Em goes in to address his problems over the last few years…again. Nice track that sounds like it should have made the cut but perhaps the suits got sick of hearing about pills and alcohol. If so, I still would’ve kept this and tossed one of the other fillers. Dah well, nice bonus.

“My Darlin” — Easy to see why this didn’t make the cut. On “Guilty Conscience” the voice inside Em’s head (Dre) grabbed you. On “My Darlin,” there’s just not enough presence by whomever it is to keep the listener interested, therefore driving one away. Good choice execs.

I agree about my darling but …
Dre is one of the voices, and the other one is obviously Eminem with an effect
comparing encore to illmatic is rather used as a metaphor than a factual statemt in this song. hes referring to how rolling stone mag originally rated his SSLP 3 stars and then in 2002 went back and re-rated it higher. he’s pointing out how ppl don’t appreciate art in the moment. look at tupac, or even mozart, people appreciate them more after they’re gone.

illmatic? cant compare…maybe it was 2004′s illmatic tho. i mean, what the fuck else dropped?
Gotta disagree about My Darling. On a few listens I find the “conscience voice” does actually grab you. Especially in the third verse where Em comes in behind it giving the idea that it’s Em all along just talking to himself, and giving it that wigged out Man in the Mirror feel. Both tracks are fire, and could’ve easily made the cut, but hopefully this is more the style (MM Ep & EM Show) that we’ll see in the album at the end of the year.
