I like Amerie because like 90% of her albums are up-tempo joints. IMO there is no excuse for a dude listening to slow ballads when the lady isn’t around to enjoy it with you.

Rich Harrison, on the other hand, came up with original production, most of which is on hit – I’ve said it before here that Amerie’s “All I Have” is, in my opinion, pretty much a classic, and the joint that Rich Harrison did for J. Lo, “Get Right” is also a banger…and he never had to jack another beat for it.
The “jacking for beats” thing is not even a point of contention for me at this point to waste my breath cuz I’m desensitized to it. Folks are gonna do what they wanna do.
So yeah, there’s no concessions to be made from my end, cuz I do like the song.

This song is straight & I love Amerie’s work. I’ll always check for her stuff & cop it as long as it’s not straight ass.
My 1st impressions of this song is eh. It doesn’t have the impact as ‘Why Don’t We Fall in Love’ or ‘One Thing’, which I shall attribute to the loss of Rich Harrison. Whilst I understand her alleged ‘beef’ with the Rich (due to Beyonce jacking), even SHE can’t deny the chemistry they had…it just worked. Do you think the final nail was the ‘Green Light’ song & video (aka dare I say ‘One Thing’ pt2)? I watched it and I immediately thought of Amerie.
I do remember reading an interview a while back (I forget the name of magazine) where Rich was talking a little about how their relationship had changed since she hooked up with (current) manager.
Seriously, they need to work together again. I liken their chemistry to Timbaland-Aaliyah in the muse sense. Does anyone know what Rich is working on nowadays?
to be honest i think with this cut, an awesome vid is what it’s going to come to. its how you have to stay relevant nowadays. I hated “Single Ladies” until the video, and will take a visual over the audio any day.
Just think when Amerie entered in ’01 the video was just her, the song spoke for itself. Ms. Knowles, oops Carter owes a lot to Amerie and others for her success.
