Alfamega Is A Snitch?

We all laughed when we saw Rick Ross in the cop uniform, clean shaven and smiling with old white women. We got a chuckle out of Algernod’s squeaky clean past and the fact he’s 32 years-old acting like a damn teenager.
But this is too far. The Smoking Gun (please don’t get them confused with us) accused Alfamega of being a government snitch. Of course, this has opened the floodgates for speculation that Mega is the reason T.I. is going to jail.
Bol commented on this issue saying that TSG “stays doing the kind of real investigating Hip-Hop journalists just aren’t capable of.” I’m going to have to disagree with him on that one. I’ve said it before and I’ve said it again, this is not journalism. What TSG is doing is putting people’s lives at risk. Yes, this is investigative, but how is it journalistic? What merit does this really serve?
TSG is putting Alfamega at risk, assuming he still mingles in the crowd that he’s accused of snitching on. I know some will say that Alfa put his own life on the line by taking the stand and snitching – and maybe I’m idealistic – but he took the stand under the guise that he would be protected.
But let’s look at the information provided a bit more closely. People are making the jump that Alfa snitched on T.I. when in fact there is no evidence to support this. According to the court order TSG uncovered, Alfamega provided “substantial assistance to the government” to shave off time in a sentence given in 1997. It’s quite a big jump to insinuate that Mega had anything to do with an investigation into T.I. that occurred a whole decade later.
So, here’s what we may know. Alfamega gave information to lower his sentence. In 1997.
We have no clue what kind of info he gave. And we have no reason to believe this “snitching” continued past that point. Still, TSG and other irresponsible journalists are willing to put his life (nevermind his career) in jeopardy for the pursuit of “journalism.”
Besides, I don’t need any papers to prove or disprove Alfa’s gangster. I saw the Dirty Awards footage with my own eyes.
In muffled tones, Alfamega reminds the cops that he’s one of them.

According to the documents, Alfamega is allegedly a snitch.
Yes, there’s a distinct difference between testifying, snitching & being a confidential informant. Testifying is usually done by innocents, snitching by the guilty in order to lessen their share of the penalties and informing by the spineless. At this point, Alfamega falls into the middle category.
The fault isn’t TSG’s. If blame lays anywhere, it’s with Alfa. TSG didn’t put his life at stake; he did by snitching. What TSG may have put at risk is his career, which is based on the whole premise that he’s a goon, an enforcer (because when was the last time you really found yourself nodding to an Alfamega tune, no matter who was featured?). His image & antics > his music. Yet, Rick Ross debuting at number one shows that fans can/will/are willing to separate art from life, putting aside the holes in an artist’s personal history for the sake of being entertained by the music.
Now, will I run up on Alfamega, yelling out “SNITCH! JUDAS ISCARIOT!” No, I’m like David. I saw the Dirty Awards footage. But I would be quite cautious of my words and actions while in his company. And while I can’t speculate if he had any hand in T.I.’s predicament, what I do believe is that once you have taken to become a stool pigeon it’s a hard course to change. And if one finds themselves in a pinch, they’ll sing and allow their loose lips to sink the ship if it means preserving their own hide.

supposedly he put DEA agents up on some information about an Atlanta-based heroin trafficker, and in return got a little over a year shaved off of his 110-month sentence…i gotta agree with Gotty – dude put himself in this predicament by snitching…in this day and age of information being accessible with a few simple keystrokes or phone calls or directed research, it’s no longer open season for people to come out and proclaim they’re this and they’re that, with no evidence to back it up (or evidence in direct contrast)…”Mega could have played the back, got a real job, stayed out of the limelight and protected himself from being outed as a stool pigeon…he chose to place himself in the spotlight and he deserves any and all retribution that might come his way…as much as some people would like to think otherwise, THERE IS a code of the streets…i’m no rapper, but every time i’ve been arrested and offered a deal to snitch i’ve laughed and told the cops to go fuck themselves…cuz that’s what you’re supposed to do.

Being a witness to a crime? Yes. But that ain’t snitching.
Telling on other criminals in exchange for a plea deal or a reduced jail sentence? Now that’s snitching & it’s never acceptaable.

Having said that though, doesn’t the history books show some major crime figures turning snitch?
When it comes to freedom, I guess all bets are off, even the hardest criminal can turn snitch.

I doubt that the individuals in question were doing subsistence crime. I think that if you get into a way of life that is by definition outside of the rules of general society you should not be surprised if others in your line of work decide to break the rules of that line of work. This isn’t freedom fighting … I do not see the nobility in most lines of crime.
Sad part is that this is helping the case of all those people who swear that T.I. snitched.
On another note how old was Alfa when he snitched?

It may not be noble, but how can you tell a man who is able to provide for his self & his family not to make money by any & all means that are available to him? Any one involved in a criminal lifestyle is well aware of the consequences they face if they’re caught. It’s a decision one makes & a punishment they should be prepared to accept.

I believe we exist in a society where keys criminals do not have to worry about being punished, so they continue to flourish. Above the law, sometimes, it difficult to tell the criminal and the element of law apart from one another.
AlfaMega is a snitch. Case closed. Granted, he’s a snitch who can whip the shit out of a lot of people, I won’t front, me included. My boxing training only goes so far considering my hands aren’t made of cinder blocks, lol. But still, regardless of the fact that he is capable of beating down me or others, he’s a snitch.

I’m not saying a man should not do what he believes he has to do … although if we continue on this line of thought a lot of our communities worldwide will continue to suffer … I am saying that it is foolish to expect an overriding code of ethics in individuals who have decided to live outside ethical codes. The Mafia no snitch codes are largely a myth. It just seems strange to me that many times people are more willing to accept criminals than the snitches. Both violate some ethical codes but the criminals tend to have a greater detrimental effect on society. He’s a snitch? Big fucking deal, I don’t follow his music so the impact of this “news” isn’t shocking to me. Still, snitches get no respect in the streets, nor do they get any from law enforcement regardless of what people may think. I must concur with Ragga: You can’t expect criminals to have their own set of morals and codes and abide by them, if they can’t even adhere to the ones put forth by society. When a dude is facing 25 to life and the law enforcement officials dangle a sentence reduction in front of his nose, snitching becomes an arbitrary decision.
