Closing out a week on TSS filled with all types of new-new (no Lauren London, unfortunately,) the Chicago Bulls’ Derrick Rose just capped it off with a record-tying performance to cement himself as the newest record holder in the league and Rookie of the Year. (See our NBA Playoff Predictions to see who saw that coming.)

Speaking of newcomers, Chester French, P. Casso, CunninLynguists, Fly Union and Mic Legacy all dropped off new videos for your viewing pleasure. (Hey, the CunniLynguists are new to some, O.K.?) Raekwon had some brand spankin’ footage of his own as well.

And how awesome is the Little Brother inspired title, seeing as Rapper Big Pooh is officially a newlywed?

Rounding out some new additions to our mixtape circuit were Twista, Skyzoo, Wiz Khalifa and Big Sean while Bun B and El Michels Affair put some new spins on some familiar favorites. $pitta spit something noteworthy while Jesse H. got BAADASSSSS! and Killer Mike would have made Ed Bradley proud.

In other news, the news got sexually subliminal, Tanya Morgan created a new world for you to explore, Sha Money is behind the new SXSW and RadioShack® is turning old gadgets into new customers. Groovy.

Even Kanye loved some new M.I.A. (Dot NET Kayne & Crew…DOT…NET) and what’s not to love about a new debate on an old classic or the revitalization of the Fat Albert In The Hood series? Mistah F.A.B. had a couple of appearances Twits (as did Rick Ross) and consider the past seven days Hip-Hop Appreciation Week for the NBA & NFL.

Of course new doesn’t always equal good. Common pimped the system (and himself), Eminem’s XXL covers were less than Marvelous, Mike Jones is still dealing with skanks and gangstas shouldn’t dance nor make diss records in Auto-Tune. And nobody, under any circumstances should be try to take the “Dame Dash” to a national level.

They should peep Mayor Hawthorne’s Fave Five instead. Keep it locked next week: more new content, same ol’ site.
