Rick Ross Feat. Kanye West, Lil’ Wayne & T-Pain – “Maybach Music 2″
AUDIO By MZ on April 8, 2009 at 6:47 pmWe all knew it was coming and this is the day of reckoning.
“Maybach Music,” off of Trilla, was the song that pretty much catapulted Rick into the fantasy world he resides in now. The Justice League provided him with a back drop oozing with class and sophistication that he was able to sidestep what would have been an otherwise career-ending revelation.
So when I saw this song was gonna be on Deeper Than Rap, I cringed. Why would you even try to duplicate what turned out be an incredible song? I guess when you’re a Bawse you can do whatever you want. And truthfully, this is a great song, but that organic feeling is missing from this one.

This is pretty tight, but I agree with you MZ, the first one > than this. It’s tight to hear Kanye referring to himself as Mr. West again, though.
I’m way more hyped for that new Rich Boy tape though.
Hmmm….this ain’t that bad. It’s on point.
The beat sounds like…some rich shit lol.
glooooooooooooooooooooooorious days!
been waitin for the CDQ of this for a minute to blast LOUD AS FUCK!
Props to the fat guy though. A good ear for beats, commendable work ethic, and decent product, and he’s side-stepping his delusions of grandeur and 50’s hijinks quite nicely.
Bawse’s beat selection>NaS’s beat selection………by a country mile
^ easily. His beat selection thus far has been on point.
If he could just steer clear of Fif
I know I’m in the minority on this one but…I didn’t like the first maybach music
I think your almost an army of one on that one old.sole, lol
I dig this. Out of nowhere I have become a Ross fan. I overlooked port of miami when it came out and somehow finally gave his fat ass a chance before Trilla.
Suddenly I find myself banging that album not stop. It is his ear for beats that catches most. He obviously can rap nothing spectacular, but it is what it is and he can carry a beat.
As for stearing clear of fif, I say he has done the best job so far. Working wit Ja rule might be his first mistake tho.
On a second listen this track is definitely < the first. MZ captures it well with “missing that organic feel”.
I would rather see Jay on a track like this, rather than the above anyways
Fat Boy’s ear for beats is as good as Game’s. They should lend em out for a fee to Tin Ear-ycists.
I’ve said it before, but Nas should let (The) Game pick him an albums worth of beats.
Don’t know why he’s not getting @ Premier for that LP either.
I think that Bawse has probably got a banger on his hands.
There hasn’t been a track leaked that I don’t like.
Like MZ said though, the first one bodies this one.
Can’t believe I’m saying this but…
I’m waiting on Deeper Than Rap.
^ LMFAO!
Don’t worry. Like the cream, Tahiry’s ass will rise to the top…. most likely as a floatation device.
Keyshia Cole FTW- Tahiry = too much photoshop!!!
@ MZ
lol your right but it aint new to me. I actually enjoyed Electric Circus.
you got a point though, the first one is more organic. weezy and this beat seem to be clashing plus Mr. West sounds a little high pitched(just a bit)
this is dope……but the OG version is epic…better even…I agree.
Cuz I’m rich off cocaine…cuz I’m rich off cocaine…
This joint goes, its been stated before but one more time for emphasis that beat is ughh iunno something serious. i wish kanye woulda delivered harder tho
12mb? damn this is CDQ. I feel T-Pain’s hook is possibly the cause for the lack of organic feeling ya’ll are talking about.
Nah, beat is super clean, the vocals cleaned up. I’m used to T Pain now.
Wack.
he did it again, all you haters need to step down. the man is on his grind!!!
