“It’s Kells And OJ”

When I heard that in the intro of R.Kelly’s new track, a flashback of last night’s Family Guy popped in my head.
“We now return to Lady and The Tramp…..and Michael Vick”
Of course it wasn’t The Juice, but it was Da Juiceman. At this point, I’m not sure which of the two is a bigger joke. The football legend and walking punchline, or the hardcore rapper that sounds like he brings Juelz Santana’s pestilent Yorkie puppy in the booth with him at all times.
Or is it R.Kelly himself? Homie seems to be hellbent on remaining the Benjamin Button of RnB. As his fans grow and mature, he provides them with less and less relevant material; going from bald to braided, adult contemporary to Hip-Pop. I’m not discrediting this man’s track record, in fact, I applaud the earlier part of it. But at some point, he lost me. His legal and personal issues didn’t help either. Suffice it to say, skepticism on this man ever making a comeback is now more than just a sound option; it’s a glaring likelihood.

When R. Kelly did She’s Got that Vibe it was ahead of its time, well for UK people anyway, it came out in 91 & wasnt a hit over here til the end of 94.
If this shit is ahead of its time I’m not lookin forward to the “music” in 3 or 4 years!
