It baffles how abused and misused the word mixtape is. If you aren’t actually mixing songs, meaning using another song that you have slowed, sped up or scratched in, get a new fucking name like Skilless CD-R.
That’s all null and void because for this one, we have two Bay Area Kings. Mista B and B Cause, both members of 4 One Funk (the illest DJ crew in the world that isn’t Skratch Piklz or Space Travelers), who brought real talent and deep crates to Technics plates. Named after E-40′s introductory slaying on The Hall Of Game, Record Haterz is a strictly vinyl 33 track mix of the rarely heard and even harder to find Bay Area gems. From Dangerous Dame and Total Devestation, to Cold World Hustlers and Coughnut (R.I.P.) the 90′s glory days of cold game and slump permeate through every track. It’s the definitive Bay Area Underground collection that was yet to be made until now, and Mista B and B Cause bring it all together with ease.
And for the record I’m a record hater with a smile at the Hugh E MC and M.V.P. joints on the cover.

And if you like what you hear, peep B. Cause’s mixed Hard As Fuck 2 & 3 with BeerAndRap.com for an equally raw Southern-themed tape.

THIS IS SO DAMN DOPE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Word! I recently peeped a Wu-Tang classics mixtape by some fools called the Gwop Boyz. It was bascially half of 36 Chambers and an assortment of joints from the early solo albums. No mixing, not even some wack fool yelling lame catchphrases over the top, nothing, just a straight up compilation with shoddy audio quality.
Completely unrelated by my mans just sent this to me:

gre = grew
@ Che(sup homie): I heard that tape. I was in a very Wu mood till I ran into that “tape”.
I’m eager to listen to this. Slightly disappointed that only a handful of folks have downloaded so far..
It’s spelled Cougnut, and pronounced ‘Coo-nut’.
@sherm. oh yeah. it was about time. they are a sorely disappointing bunch those ones.
shout out to Rasheed Wallace, lol
Teef, that’s why I got infinite respect for you.
“You’re gonna have to learn to respect your elders, main. I’m twomp 8…” Dude… Peep the 415 cover up top right. That’s CLASSIC Yay Area with Richie Rich, D-Loc, DJ Daryl… I still have the cassette. That was our NWA in the Bay man. Richie Rich is a legend!
@JOSEXXX I don’t know man… I think it’s pronounced COOG-nut. Your spelling is right tho. I used to stay out in Lakeview SF and I ‘m pretty sure its from a Mercury Cougar he used to mash with.
I can always count on C.Bloom to keep the Bay in the mix.
Kudos, broski.
@ C. Bloom – it’s all love!
R.B.L. Posse! lol
Yo I can tell this is dope by the crazy gems on the cover….I have most of those albums…..That “415-41fivin’” took me forever to track down….Propz 4 this…….
Cougnut is pronounced just like it’s spelled. They combined Cougar and Nut because he drove a Cougar and he was a nut cause he was always wilding.
This is an age old debate in my neck of the woods. Personally, I just want to be comfortable knowing people aren’t saying ‘cough-nut’.
A download MUST for me.
Ray Luv
Totally Insane
Dre Dog
Short Dog
Cannot wait to see what this mix consists of in its entirety.
In A Minute Records were plantation owners…
(As were Dogday later on)
But those people put out some classic Bay ish.

Man the Hugh EMC brings back some memories, that was my shit growing up in the Sco!! ! “Kepp a bitch broke, keep a keep a bitch broke”. The Bay is in the Area. Much props Corey for this one! Good to see you cats showing the Bay some love. A lot of mafucka’s be hating on my city and its talent, like we aint been doing it since way back when. Hatin’ bastards.. .
