Words By Jason Hortillas

The pairing of Krs-One and Buckshot seemed unlikely to me, especially for an entire album but maybe the duo will try to prove me wrong. Survival Skills (Duckdown Records) features production from Black Milk, Marco Polo, Khrysis, Illmind and 9th Wonder and a whole bunch of guest rappers as well. The leak of their first single, “Robot,” interestingly enough comments on the usage of Autotune with Buckshot pointing out that, “the best to do it was Roger Troutman, nah shorty T-Pain didn’t come out then.” Thoughts?

If you want to dig deeper, the lyrics for “Robot” can be seen with Duckdown’s interactive digital rhymebook, where you can flip the pages and read each line for yourself. I highly doubt a Buckshot/T-Pain beef to spring from this but at least they have it in writing before you start instigating.
