Any time Em uses that high pitched voice, anywhere on the track, im bound to dislike it.
That being said, lyrically and flow-wise it looks like hes at least trying again.
you guys dont get it. the voice is when he is narrating as the crazy ass lunatic killer whatever the fuck he calls it. thats the reasoning behind the voice. better than autotune and whatever shit most of the so called rappers try and do when they narrate stories.

That Asher Roth is flying off of shelves.
We forget that white people need someone to represent them in Hip-Hop as well. Em WAS that person – not trying too hard to be black (i.e. name dropping Primus and NIN in his first mainstream single – talk about the average white fan being able to relate) – and giving them something that they could relate to (because let us face it… how many whites can relate to bullets, guns, ice, rims, struggling in the ghetto, etc).
You ALWAYS hear that complaint from those who cannot identify with rap…

i think we’re not liking this cuz eminem has a whole nother bar set from his fans…we expect so much more cuz he’s em…if you break the track down, the beat is ill, the lyrics are on point, the flow is sick, the only thing lacking is the voice…everything else is legit…and then if you put it in relativity…its better than 95% any other shit out right now
Wow….talk about a disappointment! I’m a huge HUGE EM fan and I rode with him on the first single, because by now I recognize his formula (Goofy single, Dark single). Well he didn’t generate a dark single this time, its kinda like a album filler song! Not hating on my mans, just saying the track didn’t match the content and he didn’t stick to the “killer” role through the whole song. It seems like he was going for eerie but missed!
“I Am” or “cleaning out my closet” had that gothic eerie feel!

I actually just hit up someone at Interscope. Funny that they did not hit me right back as they always do.
(A red flag maybe – perhaps they know that people are not responding like they should have and are worried?)
Hopefully if I can get involved (if they do not let their egos get in the way) everyone will see what he is still capable of and made of. Because there HAS TO BE better street singles that show his creativity and lyrical skill than this track on the album.
The Flow/Delivery is str8 dope, meth, heroin but the voice is just wack…that voice and his concepts are so lame…

this song is CRAZY, everybody is talking about that voice but I love how em uses that voice because it shows that he doesn’t give a fuck and it adds to his crazy persona because of that, it also shows he doesn’t give a shit about his fans lol but yeah it’s so insane because his skills and flow are on point for sure, the only problem is the voice can get piercingly annoying at times

the first thing i thought about when hearing this song was ‘good, he’s not using that annoying voice this time’ and the second thing i thought was ‘wow, this can be off the mmlp’. the voice he uses in this song is high pitched, but it is not the same Triumph the Dog accent or ReUp-throat graveling-slurry voice that has plagued his work these last few years. the voice he uses is very similar to some of his sslp and pre-sslp stuff. and yes he covers the same material, but the way he unravels the story in conjunction with the whole pill addiction angle makes it relevant in context.

shady’s back on his devilish psychopath shit…… the fuck are you guys hearing? this shit is dope. like, technically, if you guys can’t give this props (the rhyme scheme and multi-syllable rhymes), you guys don’t know rap. what did you guys expect, him to talk about his swagger or obama? shady’s back in true form….. this is like the slim shady L.P. on crack.
What seperates Em and most other MC’s is his cadence and delivery. When he rides a beat the his timing is amazing. The track is better than most of you think but the voice is so dang dissapointing because it distracts the listener from the overall quality of his skills.
Not bad but we expect more from a 4 year hiatus.
