“Broken Chains…”
AUDIO By Gotty™ on March 31, 2009 at 2:57 pmYou can check the link for the full story behind this one, but essentially it’s the masters, unreleased vocals & instrumentals that lead to a sometimes forgotten Hip-Hop opus. Unreleased beats by Diamond D & Showbiz, plus a bonus cut featuring Party Arty. Do yourself a favor, grab it and listen to it through your headphones.

One of the better hip hop duo’s ever to grace the stage. They don’t get their proper due.
Crazy part is I just stumbled across this on my on lol.
A real gem.
Yall are mad late on this 1
Thanks…Captain Obvious lol. Been sittin on actually, so…yeah.
I think I still know their early material by heart.
i was just exploring the link from the cooler about albums best played from front to back. let’s discuss hip-hop albums best played in their entirety.
here are a few of my favorites submitted for your approval:
Outkast’s Atliens and Aquemini
UGK’s Riding Dirty
Nas Illmatic
Devin Devin the Dude
Wu-Tang Clan Enter the 36 Chambers
Ghostface Supreme Clientele
hopefully this gets the discussion going.
I’ll discuss it Know patience. ALL collections of tunes called albums are made to played in the sequence they are released in, even The Carter. Not just our golden oldies classics stuff. The Ipod is shuffle, shuffle.F*ck an Ipod and f*ck shufflin! Listen to the record, stop messin up your attention span!
personally, i prefer to listen to albums in their entirety but i respect that there’s different smokes for different folks. i don’t even know where the shuffle button is on most of my media players. the loosies are usually lost on me (no disrespect Gotty).
DITC!
Ilmmatic.
Death Cert. & Amerikkka’s Most.
Hmm…I’ll keep thinking. Those few immediately come to mind.
Illmatic
Moment of Truth
Stakes Is High
Midnight Marauders
Word Life
Ressurection (Common Sense)
The Main Ingridient
Liquid Swords
Supreme Clientele
The Infamous
Politics & Bullshit
Oh yeah:-
Lord Finesse: The Funky Technician
NINE: Cloud 9
Raekwon: Strictly Built 4 Cuban Linx
KRS One: Return of The Boom Bap
Jay-Z: The Blueprint
I think that covers it for me personally.
the only thing that bothers me when listening to a Wu album front to back is the length of some of the skits…
i prefer when skits are on seperate tracks or @ the end of songs so u can skip them if u want…
i mean i like the skits and i enjoy listening to them 2 times, but some of the Wu skits are way too long and shit pisses me off when i just wanna hear the music.
@Barack, the Wu skits don’t bother me that much, but the skits on Reasonable Doubt are pretty woeful.
Legal Drug Money & Uptown Saturday Night, yeah they are solid start to finish also. I play the Lost Boyz pretty darn regularly still.
Critical Beatdown
@ baby paw - raekwon’s first solo jernt is called “only built 4 cuban linx” not “strictly”…btw i agree wholeheartedly with most of your front-to-back picks
Even tho not a “rap” album
