Saigon, who was nearly absent in 2008 other than his Just Blaze produced banger “Believe It,” seems to be on a mission to be in everyone’s consciousness for 2009. First it was his Youtube video taunting Mobb Deep affiliate Un Pacino with his shirt off and back & forth with Atlantic. Then, it was his short-lived beef with Joe Budden that was interesting but forgettable to say the least.

All of that behind him, Sai seems to be back on the right track with new music that might actually end up being released through a label. Apparently, the New York MC hooked up with Boston producer Statik Selectah to collaborate on an album that was completed in 24 hours fittingly entitled All In A Day’s Work. The first single off of the ambitious project is a banger called “The Rules,” that includes a hungry sounding Saigon spitting 3 great verses over a beautifully chopped sample provided by Statik and a hook based around the lyrical styling of a 1996 Busta Rhymes and a 2007 Soulja Boy for an odd yet riveting combination. If the track is any indication of the rest of the project, Hip-Hop fans have a great album to look forward to this year.
