Words By Jesse H.
I remember the first time I heard this track off of Soul Survivor II and just being floored at how well the RZA and Pete Rock fused their production styles. But I did some digging & Wikipedia gives production credit to Rock alone, and if that’s the case, he certainly does RZA almost as well as Rakeem himself.
Laced between the haunting flutes, the orchestral string swordfight, the subtle wah-wah guitar and the chopped soul vocal (standard RZA formula) you get those monstrous blasts of those fat cat horns, and anybody whose anybody knows that nobody that Pete Rock is always on some Lucifer shit with them horns.
Head rush indeed.

“Lake went Uptown, Mega doin’ whatever…”
@ MZ: Check the EP out my ninja, some dope tracks on it. Cormega, Nas, and some other appearances are featured.
One of my favorite later Pete Rock joints. “War Zone” by Dead Prez also makes the cut.
One.
I will on the strength of the 500k Flea stamp of approval. I’ve listened to so much new stuff this week it’s ridiculous.
Pound for pound, probably my favourite Hip Hop producer, jeah!
