I know I just said how I’m sick of watching rappers yap about nothing via their weak viral game, but I had to post this.
In this Hot 102.7 in-studio video with MC Serch, our favorite villain Trick Trick absolutely goes off on the industry, specifically Koch Records, for not showing any love to his album or Detroit artists in general. Somewhere in between his frustration and blatant threats, the man does have a legitimate point, as his solid sophomore album The Villain wasn’t marketed at all and slept-on as a result.
I have a feeling the abbreviated editing on this was completely necessary.

LOL @ him going in on everything
I wish we could see what Royce was thinking…lol
You on Koch homie what you think? And when you open your mouth all that ignorance about the rainbow cliq got you bodied. If you was dope I’d feel ya pain. Just my opinion.
KOCH = Grave of the fire flies.
@Gotty (or anybody) Are you in possession of any b-sides or remixes that didn’t make the CD by The Dream: Love/Hate?
If so can we get a hook up please?
^ Noncipher fam. Nothing that I know of. You might be able to find some reference tracks for dude though. it’ll take some diggin of course.
Maino & Trick Trick could become rapping wrestlers.
he sounds like a ranting idiot.
How does he expect people to buy his album; when he is knocking everybody out!! lol
PLEASE tell me Royce isn’t drinking that Nuvo sparkling vodka! LMFAO!! That shit is like 30 proof! Dude might as well have a wine cooler in his hand. SMH.
Only a select few in the industry get a push anyway…shit ain’t lucrative…fools make music just to give it away for free…record labels are lookin’ at artists like liabilities anyway and prolly see diminishing returns on their “investments”
Here’s a solution: we should outsource all music industry jobs to India, the Pacific Rim & the Middle East…Jay was ahead of the game when he introduced the world to Panjabi MC on “Beware Of The Boys”
I mean, shit, Our President may be Black but he still has a terrorist’s name so I think our rappers should follow suit. Ali Shaheed Muhammad could come out now & I think he might be successful. I think the next big thing would be Wu-Tang type collective from India, and they can call themselves the Slumdog Millionnaires. That would be the illest shit evar, yo. Hot like Shiracha sauce kid.
Nuvo is what one drinks if one is looking to get his Brokeback Swerve on.
@ Heff
This chick tried to tell me it was good..lol
I was like it looks like diet Alize.. I’ll pass
Bollywood Hip-Hop is next to blow. mark my words. Elaborate dance numbers and movies scored by Primo, RZA, Timbaland, Dre & Madlib…
Maino & Trick Trick could become rapping wrestlers

@Gotty you sir, may be on to something…. The Bash Brothers
@Teef, they love Timbaland’s beats in India, trust me I should know my mum is Indian, and she thinks some of his beats are awesome. But yeah I can see someone like Timbaland flying out East to produce some kind of Bollywood Hop flavoured album.
I don’t think I’ve ever heard this cats music. As Bigga pointed out I just know him for K.O. other rappers. Also as has been pointed out Koch isn’t known for promoting anyone. They’ll release your album, but you’re gonna have to get your grind on. So people to know it’s out there. That is one thing the internet is great for. Which I believe is the point Serch was alluding to. For all the craziness it sounds like there were some valid points being discussed. I’d love to hear the entire thing. If some one has a link, I’d appreciate it.
Also I agree 100% with the fact that Detroit’s Hip-Hop scene is highly underrated & grossly overlooked. There’s some insanely talented MC’s outta Detroit. Kinda wish some Big named artist would decide to expand their team by recruiting from the D.
RMF…
Alfamega would fuck both them fools up
Teef:
That’s not a fair contest, Alfamega was genetically crossbreed for fighting.
lol
T.I. is in violation of his parole cuz he’s in possession of an Alfamega
Alfamega = Weapon of Mass Destruction.
Lol, Teef’s on a roll. Outsourcing emcees? Oh man lol.
I THINK ATLANTIC IS MAD WORSE THAT KOCH
YEAH ! (in my Trading Places Eddie Murphy Voice)
Outsourcing emcees?
=================================
Jay did it with Beans & Freeway… and the rest of them cats from Philly. And he was successful with it, for a while at least. 50 tried it too. With The Game & Young Buck, but that might be an even worse example lol.
Still think it’s a good way to lay a foundation in another region (market). Really depends on who heads the whole thing. They’d have to be really diplomatic about the entire situation. You gotta worry about people’s egos, make sure everybody’s eatin’. However I think if you do things right. You end up with a crew that’s even stronger & better than the individual MC’s could ever hope to be. Kinda like the cats with Slaughterhouse…
RMF…
I want to see trick and alphamega fight real bad now.
i think trick might give him a run…
In a wrestling match, Trick Trick would pull out a foreign object, Yung Berg’s chain, clock Alfamega over the head with it. Alfa wouldn’t be fazed in the least bit, and would proceed to do the Bankhead Bounce and A-Town Stomp all over Trick for the pin & the win
i have sat on several panels with this guy and he is insane. he will argue with you until you give up.
We’re leaving something out: that album sucked balls.
The phrase ‘throwing your toys out of the pram’ springs to mind….
If an album flops it’s not always someone else’s fault – I’d never bother with this guys music because I’m aware of his real life tough guy image, which suggests to me that he’s in rap for a quick buck but more than likely can’t rap for shit.
If you’re going to sell yourself on your tough guy image than get a career in MMA with Kimbo and leave the rapping to the rappers…
ahahahaha @no fly zone
shit we been that
Koch is no longer Koch…
It is now known as E1 Music.
(Just an FYI)
Hey i was in the studio that night and it was funny cuz as much as Serch tried to reason with him he just got more pissed
