This will be the first sounds to greet you when you’re ripping the packaging off your CD downloading from Rapidshare downloading Asleep In The Bread Aisle from iTunes on April 20th. Along with the following reactions:
– Endless nonsensical bars
– Overly exaggerated hyperboles
– Heavy Caucasian dialect
You sure I just didn’t buy Relapse a month early? Not co-signing with Copywrite…just saying.
But the kid wants to start a revolution.
Hopefully it can be his, opposed to his.

Asher Roth – Lark On My Go Kart (Dirty)

At least he figured out how to creatively incorporate “blumpkins” into his movie. Thats step one.
TC, you’re one ruthless ninja. lol
LOL, I like the song.
Asher Roth is fairly listenable, that is unlike a certain MF Doom.
Co-sign with Baby Paw
Co-sign with KThundo for co-signing with Baby Paw.
DOOM > Asher Roth. By light years, fam.
No Doubt David!
Flea, imagine what TC would have said if he didn’t like the song. lol
MF Doom is Hip Hop’s equivalent of Oliver McCall.
Anyway, as for Asher Roth, I hope that he can keep the momentum going, he certainly has found himseld a nice little niche. I can see him making a large success of himself via guest appearances on remixes for artists like Lilly Allen, Colin Munroe etc.
Though I do agree that listening to Doom is an acquired taste, Asher’s lyrical ability is laughable compared to the complexity and wit imbedded in Doom’s concepts. Doom says some stuff that you have to rewind in order to understand while Asher you just rewind it to get a quick, cheap laugh.
i like what he is doing, but his flow and vocal tone is so similar. this kid will blow up, and i like his mixtape alot. i just kinda wish it wasn’t so close being a white rapper. we gott a watch out, next thing we know he will have the autotune going.
YO I had to hop offf twitter to smack the shit out of half of you for even calling Asher Roth anything more than a regular average white kid mimmicking HipHop. There are thousands of credible white mc’s. y’all do a disservice to the game and to yourselves to even fall for this fucking marketing. But hey what do I know, the pet rock made someone a millionaire.
Like I said on Nah Right this am.
Tom Green>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>John Ashcroft Roth
I like the beat
Let’s leave DOOM out of this please, comparing him to Assher is like putting a Ferrari Modena up against a fucking Toyota Yaris.
@MQ, for a second there I thought you wrote, Pete Rock made someone a millionaire. :)
@Flea, Asher, is creative, pretty decent skills and potentially has got mass appeal. On the other hand what has MF Doom got going for himself.
To me it sounds like Doom is just talking over those beats, glug, glug, glug, glug. MF Doom and Julia Roberts are similar in the sense that both of them get far more attention than they truly deserve.
LMAO @ Baby Paw taking random shots at Julia Roberts.
The next Asher Roth song I like will be the first. This guy is very mediocre and corny as all hell. He better stick to college campus tours, because he damn sure can’t come with that weakness into hood clubs and perform unless he’s looking to get robbed and beatdown by the goons of that city.
@ Paw: Blasphemy!!! I think that I need to send you a copy of DOOM’s “Viktor Vaughn: The Vaudeville Villain” to reacquaint you with DOOM. I think what is throwing you off is that he raps in a third-person omniscent point of view, which takes some getting used to. I agree, his style annoys you at first but once you start paying attention to what he says, it’s pretty clever word-play.
He’s tolerable at best, but I’m still waiting on a song/collection of songs that are impressive. Beat was cool though.
@Flea, one thing I can say for certain, Doom is not for me. I gave him a chance with Operation Doomsday (repeated listens) but naa I just couldn’t hang with it.
I’ll cut him a little slack with regards to some of his beats, yeah he laces a good one, every now and again, however, the whole Doom zeitgeist, is way over blown.
I’m gonna put my neck on the line here, and say straight out that Lost Boyz ‘Legal Drug Money’ is 10 times doper than the whole MF Doom and KMD back catalogue combined.
Both of em suck!
^^ Wow, this dood is losing his TSS cred.
Off Top Asher & Doom Total Different and talented in their own rights
. . . but Doom like most Geniuses is a torched soul that has severe emotional problems unfortunately his problems don’t always make for good music like a Lauryn Hill, Donnie Hathaway or Jimi Hendrix
I like Some of Dooms Music but he’s definitely maybe in my Humble Almighty Opinion
MF Doom SB Dunks >>>>MF Music
. . . And What
Look dope is dope and this man is dope. Sure he doesn’t go as hard as so many other cats but hey I enjoy it all the same. Not every emcee has to be so straightforward, with his verses. Just look at ODB, he said a bunch of nonsensical stuff but he was still dope. At least Asher has found a niche for himself. I want to hear how the rest of his album sounds.
He’s okay. He still has a lot to prove.
Each time I hear his song, I have this urge to get high and watch Old School.
A lot of people’s argument against Asher Roth right off the bat is: He sounds like Eminem.
Fam, can you REALLY control how your voice is (without TPain’s DNA) ?
The subject matter he raps about is TOTALLY different when compared to Eminem’s.
As for Asher – He’s Like Young Shady, I hope he grows and gets some depth like Shady did.
I like the song it sound very 91-93 Hip-Hop.
If Pos of De La was a Suburban white boy he might sound like this IMO
. . . anyway
Did y’all hear him kill Juice (Know The Ledge) if you don’t like him you might after you hear this
http://sharebee.com/f373eb38
THE ONLY WHITE DUDES ALOUD IN THE GAME IS
1. BEASTIE BOYS – JUST OG PERIOD(PARTYS)
2. EMINEM – LYRICAL SKILL(CHILLIN)
3. PAUL WALL – DROP TOP MUSIC(DRIVING)
OH YES, ALOUD WASN’T A TYPO.
The subject matter he raps about is TOTALLY different when compared to Eminem’s.
=========================================================
It TOTALLY is not. Eminem may be more graphic but the foolishness remains the same.
We need to napalm this entire comments section. Asher Roth can NEVER fuck with Doom I don’t give a fuck who thinks it. Step your brain game up, dummies.
One.
Exactly. He’s EXACTLY ‘My Name Is’ Em, minus the Dre stamp.
Thing is that was fresh, new and straight outta leftfield 10 years ago.
Exactly.
@ Dart: Damn straight my ninja.
“It TOTALLY is not. Eminem may be more graphic but the foolishness remains the same.”
There’s a lot of cats who spit some foolish shit. Beastie Boys, Greg Nice, Biz Markie, Eazy E. You can say that the way Asher does it is too close to Em but but there’s enough distinction between the delivery of the two. Eminem’s delivery is too complex to do something like this. And that’s for old and new Eminem.
He has said before that Em was an influence on him. Not saying you’re accusing him of biting but for those who do, anyone who pays close attention should be able to tell the difference.
4/20, baby.
So let’s get specific, what’s it come down to? Voice, flow, delivery and vocabulary depthology?
Or is it more about style, swagger and pizazz ie image?
asher’s the epitome of average. I don’t not like him, but eh, I don’t really like him either. The voice and some of the nonsense subject matter/rhymes (as tc said) are inevitably comparable to Em without the meat.
“Asher Roth is fairly listenable, that is unlike a certain MF Doom.”
man, 1 DOOM verse shits on Asher’s LIFE
We need to napalm this entire comments section. Asher Roth can NEVER fuck with Doom I don’t give a fuck who thinks it. Step your brain game up, dummies.

Co-fucking-sign!!!!!
It’s obvious some of y’all have never really broken down DOOM’s wordplay.
Fuck Roth, DOOM > a large percentage of dudes I’ve seen proclaimed as lyricists on here…
AND
No dis, but drop a 2nd blast of napalm on this post for the Posdnous/Roth comparison!!!!!!!!!!!!
Repping the Terps like that? Isn’t Asher claiming ATL… and really from PA?
fake-ass “collegiate” themed stuntin = new indie swag
Doom Has A lot of word play but that doesn’t always equal good songs.
and you knows it too. He don’t even like performing all that “genius’
http://cosign.wordpress.com/tag/mf-doom/
As for Asher & Pos. I stand by it. If you listen to any early De La, specifically De La Soul is Dead, Buloone Mind State or seen an early De La Live show where Pos would Freestyles then you may understand what I’m saying
Please don’t misinterpret I don’t think Ash is the next Pos (He’s along way from that) but Asher’s rap style on the song and the track remind of Pos and that era.
MF Doom’s delivery is horrible. He may be one of the worst rappers ever.
Way better than I thought it would be. I’m now looking forward to when this shit leaks.
“A lot of people’s argument against Asher Roth right off the bat is: He sounds like Eminem.
Fam, can you REALLY control how your voice is (without TPain’s DNA) ?”
No, but I can control whether I listen to it or not.
Fuck yall, Asher goes hard.
Nigga gotta single…DUME doesnt…
Case Closed ;)
YOU FAGGOTS ARE RETARDED JEW LOVING HONKIES !!!
ASSER ROTH IS NOT A RAPPER!!!
HE’S A ZIONIST PAWN..FOR YA SWINE WORSHIPING INFIDELS
GET A THOUGHT PROCESS YOU FUCKIN PRE-PROGRAMED REJECTS..FUCK YO TV AND RADIO ..
relating asher to doom? friggin’ backpackers, lol. grow up.
who or what is lark? a person, bird..?
Lark Voorhees of Saved by the Bell Fame……”You can take Kapowski” (Kelly on the show) ” I’ll take Lark on my go-kart”……….Roth is reputable. Check out the producers on his mixtape with DJ Cannon (The Greenhouse Effect): Timbaland, Dr. Dre, Diddy, Pharrell, Andre 3000, will i am, Kanye west, scrappy, nate, and John fuckin’ mayer? Who has cross-stream cred like that and is as relate-able to the experience of a huge generation of youth? No matter what is said, kid has a niche and a good message in songs (check out sour patch kids) nuff said, the shizit is tite.
