T.I.’s Road To Redemption, Episode 1
GENERAL By Gotty™ on February 7, 2009 at 3:53 pmI actually got the screener for this the other day. The good folks at MTV asked if I wanted to review & that was a no-brainer. I finally got around to watching it last night & was prepping a writeup on it. I knew full well this was going to leak before I could prolly get anything written so I’ll just jot a few quick notes.
– Whether you like him or not, you’ll find yourself watching & listening closely as Tip shares his stories. In fact, they’re the more interesting part of the show & I hope there’s more of the laced into upcoming shows.
– After hearing him mention his kids in his rhymes, seeing & hearing him talk about them, you can sense there’s genuine worry about how they, more than anyone, will fair while he’s away.
– Pee Wee, the kid T.I. has decided to help in this first episode, looks & acts like damn near like every little hustler in the projects of my city. Peasy hair, chapped lips, clean gear that fits him sloppy…and a determined ability to get his cash however, no matter what.
– T.I. has immaculate tastes, considering I’ve got both of those Lo vests in my closet as well.
– Some of the upcoming episodes appear to have more complex characters than Pee Wee, individuals with more intricate situations. I’ll be watching to see how those play out & to hear more of T.I.’s story.
T.I.’s Road To Redemption debuts on Tuesday, Feb 10th, 2009 at 9pm EST. Subsequent episodes will air at the regular time slot every Tuesday at 9:30pm EST. For more information, visit www.TI.MTV.com.

i know i’ll be watching. besides having been a fan of his from day one, he gives great interviews. i guess it’s his charisma/swag (dare i use that word?) and i’d like to see what he’s really about. btw, love the vests gotty.
Don’t get me wrong, what he’s doing is a fine and good thing. Whether or not the damn little guys are going to take anything from this is the question. Pee Wee remind me of every little hustler I see at work. Some straighten up, some don’t.
TI’s style is sick though. He got the sophisticate/dboy style down.
I could go make a short list of TI’s most articulate moments captured on video and it would start w/his testimony @ Phil’s murder trial. The situation wasn’t funny but the whole he spoke, it reminded me of dude on In Living Color doing his best “smart” voice. But what he was saying was sincere & emphatic.
I think its funny how they say he thinks he is being interviewed on hustling and has no idea T.I. will be helping him, but before TIP showed up, pee wee has on the akoo jeans….coincidence? i dont think so..
