If I don’t see Rick Ross’ face again this week, I will be ok. But I realize that there are times when I must lay my personal feelings aside in order to pass along shit like this to people like you. Your e-martyr for the cause, here @ your beckoned call.
Props to OS for sending out the vid.
On a sidenote, the homie Adam over @ Broken Cool passed along 10 better names for Deeper Than Rap.
10. “Get Rich And Die Lyin’”
9. “Tougher Than Pleather”
8. “Court Of Miami”
7. “Call Girls, Coke, and Curtis: The Rick Ross Story”
6. “Filla”
5. “Urban Legend”
4. “Rick Ross: Mall Cop”
3. “Undercover Brother”
2. “American Wankster”
1. “Government Papes & Lunchbreaks”

To a point, all this shit is just pointless at this point.
50 Cent said it best in his interview:
“When they asked him were you a C.O., he should have said ‘Yes, where do you think I got my connects from.’ Instead he had to keep lying because he built this facade that’s so far from the truth.”
If he really wanted to make Deeper Than Rap successful, he would’ve went took the millionaire horseradish down a couple notches; make the album more gutter, more relatable. But his arrogance is gonna be his downfall this outing.
No, Ross.
Just, no.
You’re done.
One name missing from that top ten list is “The Biggest Loser”…
Inside sources at Def Jam tell us that Island Def Jam Chairman, L.A. Reid has ordered Rick Ross not to call radio DJS or radio personalities regarding the beef with him and 50 Cent. Apparently Def Jam feels like Rick Ross is out there making a fool of himself. While he just launched a brand new single, “Magnificent,” featuring John Legend, all the attention is focusing on his downward spiral ever since going at 50 Cent. Sources tell us that Def Jam is not pleased with the reaction his new single is receiving. A radio single with John Legend is usually an automatic win, but unfortunately for Rick Ross, he has only received 126 spins across the country since his record premiered over a week ago. As of late, everybody that interviews Rick Ross focuses on his days as a correction officer, his situation with his baby’s mother and 50 Cent instead of focusing on his record.
This nigga is so corny. Too bad his music is decent…
lol
the top brass at Def Jam must not like Fiddy too tough nowadays
The worse lies you can tell are the ones to yourself. Rawse!! just need to stop with his hood fairy tales and concentrate on making good music. His dj rides phantoms; big deal Khaleed named his pet camel Phantom. lol
THIS aggin just said he wasn’t going to get involved in the supposed “girl/monkey/hoe-talk” with “Curly” and now he goes and shoots a video?
Another gift from Rick Ross?
WTF???
I can’t lie, though…his flow & rhymes are dope on this
His flow and rhymes are always dope! He’s one dimensional but so are the Clipse and countless others. It’s just blatantly not believable at this point and Hip-Hop was founded on credibility and that still remains intact to this day.
Can’t smh too much. He brought this on himself. It’s like when that old lady told the couple don’t call Beetlejuice and they did it anyway.
Thick Ross…. Deeper than snacks…
But im saying this is COMPLETELY pointless…
SMH @ his label throwing in the towel….
Punch Drunk and he don’t even see it… Funny.
and this “Curly” (HUH???) shit is just retarded…
Rawwwwse!
usually beef helps sell a product, but in this case it’s distracting from what could’ve been a good comeback album for ross.
‘cuz at the end of the day, C.O. shit or not, ross’s music is dope. mafia music is a hot song & he’s getting better with each album. he knows how to pick a beat & unlike many rappers today, his lyrics are progressing instead of regressing.
anybody who judges a rapper on their image is lame. 90% of these niggaz is lyin. half your favorite rappers are gay & if that shit ever came out their fans would be crushed.
i guess ross thought the conflict would stay on-record, knowing that his music is better. but to his credit, fif took it elsewhere. fif was wise to do that cuz musically ross is much better right now.
“It’s just blatantly not believable at this point and Hip-Hop was founded on credibility and that still remains intact to this day.”

really?
was ice cube & dr. dre gangsters?
ice cube went to college for architecture & has never been to jail a day in his life. he’s one of the GODFATHERS of gangsta rap.
c’mon, man. this shit is entertainment.

Man though Im not trying to see this… I do agree that its hella entertaining
@ Khalid
Of course it’s entertainment but there wasn’t irrefutable evidence contradicting their entire platform. Everybody knows Reasonable Doubt was exaggerated, but instead of scrutinizing facts, Jay became the prototype for Big Willy hustlers as did Cube for militant Black men, Eminem for misunderstood White boys, B.I.G. for ashy to classy, etc. etc.
Ro$$ is acting like he’s the rapping Manuel Noriega, the Hip-Hoppin’ Tony Montana, and look around the entire internet, nobody’s buying it. Which in turn, hurts his entire hustle. It’s either find a new boat or sit on the deck pretending like your ship’s not sinking.
Ice Cube in college= Fudge.
Sorry, but i kinda like this song and the john legend one too
There seems to be a myth that this dude rhymes are good but they are not. I own both album (Port of Miami and Trilla)and i never listen to those shit after abut a week of listening after purchase. Can anyone quote a dope verse from Officer Rawse? cause that shit is like a Game song with no name drops it doesn’t exist. Fiddy’s music may be lacking but i’ll take “I Get Money” over anything from the C.O.(except maybe “Hustling” that shit was fire! lol.)
Also it unfair that we’re forced to see Officer Rawse man boobs throughout the video. i wish i could unsee that shit.
I aint mad at Ross…. I always thought he was garbage
I’m mad at all the dudes who abandoned him after they found out he was a CO when he was 19/20 years old …….
like dude said above its just entertainment
“Left him in the cell just a sheet and a matress”
“every day im cuffin em cuffin em cuffin em”
“I made a couple million dollars last year shuttin gates”
“just another shift in the life of a goddamn ross”
Lemme ask u sumthin, TC.
Did Cube come out & say, “I’m an architecture major & I’m only acting”? No. He played a role. Nigga wasn’t even from Compton actually. Did he say that? No. We found out years later.
Did Dre ever show us those pics of him wearin sequins in World Class Wreckin Cru? No, they leaked like Rick Ross’s CO pic way after Straight Outta Compton dropped.
On the song “Express Yourself,” Dre raps, “I don’t smoke weed or cess/cuz they’re known to give a brutha brain damage.” 7 years later, he dropped The Chronic & we all loved it. All of a sudden he a big pot-smokin gangsta. No one called him out except Eazy-E.He was playing a role. But it’s OK cuz his music’s dope.
When Ross said, “I know Noriega,” who took that shit serious, really? Ross ain’t playin that drug shit up no more than anyone else. And who’s to say he didn’t sell drugs fo’real? Who’s to say that after he got dough as a rapper, he ain’t put work on the streets? I’m not condoning it, I’m just sayin.
This rap shit a facade. I know famous studio engineers & bodyguards who will TELL you who’s real & who’s fake. Who’s gay & who’s straight. You’d be surprised who’s playin the roles of straight males.
Some of your faves, I bet.
Deeper than Rap!
will be ccccccrraaaazzzyyyyyyyy! trust rick !!
BOSS!!!
In BAWSE we trust
@Strick
While we all know you are right, the difference in all those examples is that none of them FLATOUT denied anything that was pointed out .. worse yet none denied it AFTER it was found to be true.
Its one thing to exaggerate, but don’t tell me I am white when I have the mirror to my own face. That’s not entertainment, that is straight up calling me an idiot.
Which goes to another level…. why not just put out the music.. it is good.. its not DJ following up “Express Urself” with ‘The Chronic’ type good.. but it really is better than most out but he is murking himself with every turn.
Truth be told, after hearing the interviews with Ross I really think this beef is made up. I’m also positive he never figured 50 would go crazy and get his baby’s mom and other MIA rappers involved. Now, dude’s credibility is taking another hit and the radio play he could be getting is fizzling.
All of that amounts to a damn shame, cause this song and the joint with John Legend are fire. Period. And if we’re going to compare, they’re both hotter than “I Get It In” and WAY hotter than “Get Up.” (seriously, why is 50 reaching for club hits? It ain’t happening.)
@belve10
i feel you, homie. but my only point is this:
what the fuck does rick ross being a liar have to do with his music? i don’t listen to that nigga’s music ‘cuz i think he’s a drug dealer. i listen ‘cuz the shit is fire. he lied, so what? that shit ain’t affectin’ my life.
a BUNCH o’ rappers is lyin to us every day. if you stopped supporting the music of rappers who lied, you prolly wouldn’t have shit left to listen to.
but i’mma do this for ya’all…
i’mma give ya’all “a gift”, like ross gave info…
i’mma convince my man, who’s engineered multi-platinum albums for over 15 years, to let me interview him. i’ll also try my dude who’s a well-known bodyguard for some big-name rappers. they don’t wanna go public with shit ‘cuz they’re still in the game, but maybe i can bribe ‘em to talk.
i’ll let them tell you who they saw in the studio gettin a blowjob from another dude & who bitched out during a confrontaion. we’ll post it right here at TSS, if gotty permits it.
and if you base what music you listen to on a nigga’s percieved image, i challenge you to NEVER listen to that artist again. not a song… NOTHING. i warn you, though. it may be your favorites. so be careful who you trust based on what they say in public ;-)
Eating grapes is gangsta.
If rap is a facade to anyone, then they should not be fucking listening to it. You’re just contradicting yourself, real talk. A lot of ninjaz in the game have real criminal records and have done/do grimey shit; most of ‘em not the most mainstream artists. I look at it like this: If a ninja says that he “shoots ma’fuckaz” it might not be him per se, but rather a member of his click whose putting in that work. Still, if you’re a real ninja you’ll know who is frontin’ and who isn’t; in my non-important but strong opinion Ross is straight-frontin’.
Tattooed Titties and Caviar Dreams…lol.
@ K. Strick
that would be hilarious.
“My album will manifest many things that I saw, did, or heard about” – OC
Point is, why dude deny his job? Once he denied his own existence he became a joke to me.
It’s music.
I’ll go along w/the story aspects of it all, but ease back off the bullshit when they got your picture in uniform, don’t deny YOURSELF, man…That’s the part that’s cornball.
Hyperbole is completely cool…expected even, (I never believed Special Ed ate alligator soufflé ever in life/Never believed DMC walked on water and never fell), but like Belve said, this is just insulting to me b/c homey is in denial on some seemingly pathological shit…
“kimbo slice on the pad when i write”
word…. just like kimbo had a few, got the hype, and got KTFO! never to be heard from again…..
Point blank period Ross is going to have to do some type of bodily harm to Fif in order to get his street cred back and he and Fif knows that and that why Fif took it to this level this is a test to see if you are who you say you are however it is a still a catch 22 cause lets Ross gets grimey or sends someone to get grimey THE WHOLE FUCKIN WORLD KNOWS HE WAS INVOLVED!!! I hate Fif’s music as much as anyone but tht nucca is on some crazy evil genius type shit
What about “mall cop music”
