“Suite For Ma Dukes…”
GENERAL By Gotty™ on February 10, 2009 at 11:29 amThe homie J.Kim passed this thru the inbox & it chock full of information, so much that I didn’t want to omit any of it. Therefore, found in the inbox…
Tomorrow (Tuesday) is the 3rd anniversary of his untimely passing. I’m working with Mochilla, Carlos Nino & Miguel Atwood Ferguson on this project entitled the Suite for Ma Dukes EP. It’s an orchestral-chamber style take on Dilla’s music, with a 30+ piece orchestra. The EP is on ITunes now and the vinyl drops in April.
Mochilla is also producing a live show in LA, February 22nd w/ a live 30+ piece orchestra as part of their producer/arranger 4-part series.
Wanted to see if you were interested in posting a song off the EP for download as well as promo the iTunes release, it’s vinyl release in April, as well as the event on the 22nd. I have clearance to have you leak “Find A Way” which was a Tribe Called Quest Song.
Like we spoke on last week, Dilla’s estate & family are in need for a variety of reasons. The project received the official blessing of Ma Dukes herself and part of the proceeds from the record will go to Dilla’s heirs. Suite For Ma Dukes is available on Mochilla - “Find A Way”

Alot of Dilla projects now are not deemed “official” now unless it has the stamp of approval of Ma Dukes. It’s good cause they need it and alot of people have eaten off of Dilla.
I’m buying this when it drops. Support and show love everybody.
I can’t wait for that
damn…this seems like a dope ass idea! i’m about to go to itunes and see what’s up!
Good look, purchased.
Copped.. .
Orchestral, chamber? I’m curious, this could be tight as hell.
Anyway, take my boys “Jazzy, mellow” take on Dilla with the Midnight Snack mixtape. Its dope as hell, unlike any other Dilla mix I’ve heard.

feelin’ it, but i wish they included double bass, seeing as how dilla’s basslines were such a big part of what he was all about.
