thinking the same thing, but I can’t deny that his music isn’t tight. As for the major draw: probably just as much to do with what he’s done w/ his acting than his music, but his music stands up.

Here’s the convoluted reason why I like Drake:
After Drought 3, Wayne fell off hard in my view. He got lazy (critics see it as experimental) and unoriginal with the autotune shit (they call that the same shit too). Whenever he rhymes with this Drake fella, he seems to step his game up.
I also respect the fact that the guy plays his lane, no guntalk or any dumbshit and he has a nimble flow. The fact that he’s a very good singer with eclectic tastes in instrumentals doesn’t hurt either. That said, he needs to tone that shit down.
If he can come up with a nice single or two, he’s almost guaranteed to blow up, based on his pre-existing fan base and association with Wayne.

Tone it down for who? Hardcore rap fans who’ll prolly never give Drake his respect? Drizzy’s in his own lane. If he just continues to do him like he’s been doing, sjky’s the limit. Think Will Smith, except he’s actually an above average MC who can hold a note. Big Willie Style did crazy #’s.

The mixtape was hit or miss for me, but the kid definitely has potential. That screwed up track is tight, he raps normal, screwed, then sings. I agree with the poster above who said that wayne out raps him on every song. The one with them two and santo gold was wayne peaking.
