Before I say this, please note that some people might call me a Jada stan, and they’d have good reason to. That being said…I was underwhelmed by this. Remember the first Champ Is Here, remember the title track!? I never expected this mixtape to be better than the first, but it lacks anything near that caliber. I was feelin it, then I got to track 6 and it went downhill. Beat selection is horrible. The “Green RMX” joints are the regular “throw the same acapella on a more recognizable beat” tracks, pointless IMO. I like “Ten Toes Down”, but I heard that already. Oh well, I still think the LP will be dope, I jus think they went about this mixtape half-assed and it has that “thrown together at the last minute” sound. Just my 2 cents…
Nah, I gotta disagree Diz. This shit is onpoint. I’m so used to hearing the southern rappers & the hipsters kill mixtapes, feels good to hear some ol grimy NY ish. That last Banks & the Coke Wave get burn all day.
I kno wut u mean Amp, it just didn’t have that grimy NY feel to me, Kiss came correct, but I think a lot of the beats just killed it for me…I’ll give it another full listen tomorrow. I gotta check out that Coke Wave tho, been hearin a lot about it…
