Bone Thugs. Uni5.

If K-Fed as a member of Bone Thugs didn’t sound right to you, this might.

Here’s a low-quality version of “The Game Ain’t Ready,” which is the first track featuring all five members of the Cleveland quintet in almost ten years. The track’s produced by Thin C and is supposedly on their reunion album, Uni5, which tentatively drops June 30th.

Based on this version alone, the song is…eh.

The beat is a monster, especially the jack the ripper bassline. Bizzy straight laces it. For the most part, they all come correct. The question is how many times are we going to hear about Bone claiming “we back”? They’ve been on the same comeback shtick since BTNHResurrection. Since they can’t coexist outside of the studio and they don’t make music in between albums like the majority of the currently successful artists, they feel the need to reintroduce themselves every album. You’re “still creepin’ on ah come up.” Yeah…we get it already. If the Thugs-N-Harmony really wanted to come back strong, they’d stop rehashing their rebirth and simply make hits like the old days.

Either way, it’s genuinely good to hear these former Faces of Death all making music together once more. They’ve been there and back, and deserve one last shot to reclaim their spot up top.
