If you haven’t already listened to The Renaissance, you should, especially if you appreciate a Hip-Hop album dominantly produced by live instrumentation. When you see performances such as Q-Tip on Conan O’Brien crazy things happen – improvisation, singing and tambourine playing. I’m laughing at all of you who missed the sarcasm. Lacking from the recorded version is the presence of Raphael Saadiq, but having DJ Scratch (EPMD) behind you makes up for it slightly. For those who hated “Vivrant Thing,” don’t complain with this incarnation of Tip, cause this is closest to Tribe you ever going to get now.
