Twista - “Wetter”

Adrenaline Rush is by far the best Twista album in his discography. A lot of that has to do with the chemistry between the fast-paced MC and his fellow Windy City producer The Legendary Traxter. Unfortunately over the course of Twista’s next three albums, the two didn’t connect and, while he became a huge mainstream act, he never artistically reached the plateau of his 1997 opus.
As we enter 2009, fans finally get a chance to hear exactly what we know the two can do. The Chi-town duo hook back up to remake their classic song “Get It Wet.” The result is a radio-ready jam with a raunchy R&B hook coupled with Twista spewing double time rhymes over the beautiful keys and quick-hitting drums of Traxter.
If they keep this up, I will definitely be in line to drop ten hard earned bucks on Twista’s 2009 release Category F5.

I gotta go with Kamikaze & Day After as well. They both got some bangers on them. And I heard Adrenaline alot while in high school rolling in my boy’s tricked out Neon.

Twista… another cat that makes me feel hella old. I remember when i lived on the Westside of Chi (60644, baby!) and cats used to talk about this little kid–must’ve been 3-4 years younger than me…
You’d find him at house parties, random cyphers at schools, etc… he looked like he needed kidney transplant or something–was really chubby and short, but had these oldman’s eyes, like he’d been drinkin’ Nighttrain.
People would always say the same thing:
Yo this kid got a problem—he talk all fast, like he on somethin….
Yeah he like that white dude in teh Micromachine Commercials, but he talk faster than him. But ol’ boy is tight, I think… if he’d slow the hell down some…
Nah, Joe is hot! Speed it up!
It went back n forth like that. Twista always got that mixed reaction from folks even back when we was in school…
Then that rodeo firewater flow got hot on local radio… Twist (Tung Twista) and Crucial Conflict, Do or Die and them cats started going at it…
Because so many cats had southern roots, that countrified spitfire rhyming actually made sense. Everybody talked super fast on the West side (and out south in the wild 100s). But Twista had an extra gear over everybody else.
Anyway, here we are like 20 years later…
