I actually stumbled across this one yesterday after I got the email about the The Rub x 2008 mix. I didn’t mention it because I wanted to save something to give you all today. I rode to it last night on a late trip to Best Buy & it gets the thumbs up.
Back in the day there was a template that rap albums had. You had a dance track, a DJ cut, a slow jam for the girls, maybe a hip-house song, and of course my favorite was the posse cut where the featured artist would put on all his folks to get busy on the track. This is a compilation of some of my favorite posse cuts from that golden era of hip-hop. — Cosmo
We can place bets on which song is more phenomenal but my bet is on Cube, Kam & King Tee or “Buddy.” The personal sleepers are easily BDK with Scoob & Scrap & both Heavy D joints, since both are damn near forgotten at this point in time.
The real question would be what songs would you use for Volume Two of a similar compilation?

yea man somebody need to separate these tracks an get a well known dj to do this like them old dj clue mixtapes cus this is timeless especially if the dj mix em rite
i mean separate the tracks an play em in full
can’t wait to hear this….
Part Two:
* Spontaneous (13 MC’s Deep) – L.O.N.S.
* Beasts From The East – Canibus, A+, Lost Boyz
The rhythm is the illest beat of ALLTIME!!! that shit is hard
Headz Ain’t Ready (from the New Jersey Drive Soundtrack) – Buckshot, Smif N’ Wessun, Heltah Skeltah, O.G.C.
There’s an old NWA track. I wanna say it’s either got DOC or ATL featuring on it, that’d make a good addition.
DMX “Blackout” Feat. The LOX & Jay-Z
I have no idea, but damn that poster brings back memories, the movie was terrible, Baldwin and Kane did their thing and of course the soundtrack with The Intelligent Hoodlum (Posse Shoot Em Up).
There was another movie around the same era called Gunmen which also had Peebles in there along with cameos with Eric B & Rakim, Kid Frost and I think Kane was in there too.
Erm part two…..
Busta Rhymes, Jamal, Redman, Erick Sermon……..YEAH
Cypress Hill, Erick Sermon & Redman….Throw Your Sets In the Air
Kane, Jay-Z, Shyheim, ODB, Sauce Money, Akinyele, Big Skoob….Show n Prove.
Crooklyn Dodgers 94 & 95
Oh, shit…I just remembered Red Bandit’s “All Men Are Dogs” 9 Dog Mc’s mix with Macwell, Snaggupus, Positive K, Raggedy Man, Pudgee Tha Phat Bastard, Grand Daddy I.U., Grand Puba & The Notorious B.I.G.
Loved that joint.
Monch, Daddy Skitz, Methodman, Lee Stone and all those other dudes who were on that remix for Simon Says.
Artifacts, Lord Jamar & Lord Finesse….Collaboration of Mics
Cutlass, Kane, Shante, Biz & Craig G…….Cypher Part 3.
DJ Kool, Biz & Doug E Fresh…..Let Me Clear My Throat (remix)
UGK, Keith Murray & Lord Jamar…….Livewires Connect
Erm ask me again tommorow, I’m gonna kick back now and just listen to my stereo.
Pete & CL, “The Basement”
DJ Clue, “Fantastic 4″
Gang Starr “I’m The Man”
Crooklyn Dodgers 1 & 2
Diamod D “Pass That Shit”
Big L “Da Graveyard”
“All About the Benjamins remix”
2Pac, “Mind Made Up”
Fab Five, “Lefleur Leflah Eshkoshka”
That one joint with Biggie, Bone Thugs and a whole bunch of other people.
Oh, and the only thing I think about when I see something about the movie Posse: Salli Richardson. Nekkid.
I saw Tone Loc in Ace Ventura, HEAT and Fern Gully
Kane was in Posse, Meteorman and Gunmen and that was it really.
As for Peebles he did Panther after this a few more DTV efforts and then I saw him in some softcore porn type short story cinema feature.
Peebles was good back in the 80s in Breakin, JAWS 4 (when the shark ate him) and he was cool in Heartbreak Ridge with Clint Eastwood.
Fab Five, “Lefleur Leflah Eshkoshka

Classic.
I think I’m in love with Graph Nobel…
Graph Nobel?? Who is that?
But anyway Peebles wasn’t Jaws’ first non white victim, you have to go back to Jaws 3 for that one when Jaws ate Lou Gossett Jnr’s nephew and then he gobbled up Lou Gossett Jnr as well.
That freaking Lords of Brookyln track with Lord Finesse, OC and Everlast……..Lake of Fire
Graph Nobel’s the 2nd dime in Idle Warship, a group which I don’t actually remember her joining , but that’s neither here nor there.
The Fugees ft. The Outsidaz – “Cowboys”
Graph Nobel’s the 2nd dime in Idle Warship, a group which I don’t actually remember her joining , but that’s neither here nor there.

As sexy as they are… those two chicks are slowing Kweli down from the songs that I’ve heard. (IMO of course)

she is fine as hell.
Dope
There’s way too many records that I wish I could have put on this mix, but already this shit was like 2+ hours long and it would have made it mad hard to make it downloadable in a convenient manner. But yeah, I’ve already started to compile a list for a part 2 that I might bang out when I get back from vacation. These joints are just some ones that I was digging at the moment so you know, fuck it there you go.
Just a quick note as to the certain parameters that I was following to make it – firstly I was saying that (in my opinion to make this mix) the song had to have at least two guests on it to make it an official “posse cut” although in most cases I opted for 3+. Also, in the case of dude saying Wu-Tang, technically they are all one group and not a collection of guest appearances. But whatever, shades of perception and all.
Anyway, thanks for the support and glad you enjoyed the music. Peace.
