Instead of subjecting you to multiple posts with featured video clips, let’s just mash all these up into one. You click, you view, you drink your coffee & be entertained.
Shall we begin?
In their second installment of UNN Presents Grindtime TV, Killer Mike sits down with the man behind the hits, Jim Jonsin. Much is the case with anyone, I heard Jim’s work before I saw him and, when I did see him, my initial thought was “who the fuck is this hard rock-lookin’ white dude?” After that, I took to asking questions, finding out more about him & checking for his work. What I discovered was that he (and his whole team) have roots that run deep with music, which he & Mike talk about in the clip.
FYI — Jonsin x Pac would have been a monstrous combo.
Props to UNN for sending over the clip.
Jay Rock & Nipsey Hustle with their On Da Spot Freestyle. Still picking these two as ones to watch coming out of the West.
San Diego crew Deep Rooted’s video for “Billie Jean Theme” from their self-titled album, D.e.e.p.R.o.o.t.e.d.. Download link to the audio below. Give it a suggested spin & find yourself entertained by the way they flipped the beat & song’s concept.
Deep Rooted – Billie Jean Theme
Unofficial video for Black Milk’s “Dub Rock” off Tronic.
Lil Wayne debuts “Prom Queen” in San Diego last night. If timing is everything, expect this song to blow whether you like it, accept it or protest it. Why?
1. It’s Weezy F.
2. Target audience — It’s such a “rock” record that high schoolers from NJ would like. And…
3. Spring = Prom Season. Every future pole dancer with her mother’s makeup on will be dry humping to this tune.

Anybody got the Recession advance? or any “unreleased” joints from around the time the recession dropped?
those shakers make that billie jean thing freaking unlistenable. damn.
Since we’re placing requests, anybody got Like Father, Like Son minus Baby’s verses? That joint was floating around for a while & now I can’t find it.

Bang. Bang. Bang.
What caught me with Killer Mike (and this video is evidence of it) is that the man is real. I’ve yet to come across something that made me question his “that dude” status.
I’m with Gotty, Jonsin gets that “huh, who he?” but I’ve begun to not question those things associated with Mike. Full-fledged stan, nah, but I’m a “golden-age” Hiphop head that has come to see Mike fits right in with my heroes…it’s that socio-political street knowledge vibe.
Thanks for that Jim Jonsin piece… I want to hear more of his work with YelaWolf. They make a great team.
Something else for ya – I remixed Prom Queen a bit… added some better drums and a rap verse as well. Plus some David Lee Roth for the hell of it.

Enjoy.
Is that the same white dude standing next to T.O. on page 2?
Hold on, hold on. Jim Jonsin is of the Caucasion persuation?
@jowhite
Killa is the truth, there is not fake bone in that dude’s body
