The State Vs. Adam “Pacman” Jones

As a blogger/writer, I consider myself never to be @ a loss of words. Ever.
But I think the latest entry in the Pac-Man Jones story has left me speechless by the sheer fuckery ignorance involved. Following his career since he was a rookie with the Titans until now, I think he’s finally crapped out. Perhaps not in the judiciary system, but definitely with the League.
In case you haven’t been keeping up with it.
1. Adam “Pac-Man” Jones was released by the Cowboys on Wednesday.
2. ESPN let the cat out of the bag that Jones was involved in ANOTHER shooting in June 2007, only months after the infamous “make it rain” shooting in Las Vegas that got him in hot water in the first place. ESPN also claims that the NFL was aware of this second incident. How this was swept under the rug so long is beyond me.
3. Jones’ rebuttal to ESPN’s story…
“It will be a lawsuit in a week against ESPN,” Jones said. “That’s stupid. It’s so stupid I have no more comments.” [WL]
4. Dare I say that ESPN upped the ante by releasing this…
The above is a portion of the upcoming episode of Outside The Lines, which will feature the alleged victims.
Will this footage convict him in a court of law? Probably not. But in the court of public opinion and, more importantly, in the courtroom of NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, Pacman will be served what we can presume will be his final L.

^ He shot a fool in ATL, where he lived & had at least 2-3 other run-ins that I can remember.
Just saw the ESPN piece on tv a little while ago. The man had skills but this shit diminished any sort of credibility he could have had. When I heard about the Cowboys signing him, I wasn’t too surprised because Jerry Jones does what he wants, but if they let him go, he’s done with football of all kinds. He can’t even do his thing in the Arena league cuz that’s gone now. Hope he gets his life in order even if he can’t lace em up anymore.
Daaaaaaamn my ninja!!! I didn’t know that Pac-Man was gettin’ gully like that; the outcome of that court case ain’t looking too bright based on that tape though.
I don’t dislike dude as a person b/c I don’t know him. I think he’s immensely talented.
But, for all he stands for, he fucked it up for a lot of aggins trying to play sports & coming from “troubled” backgrounds.
I can think of 3 documented incidents where gunfire erupted & he was in the immediate vicinity. LV, a thing here where he & his crew got into w/All-Star’s crew, now this. Not to mention 2 other incidents here that involved assaults @ clubs (he spit on a chick & squabbed w/a bouncer).
You a fuckin NFL star! Can’t you keep your ass @ the house, throw your own stripper pole up in the house & do your do?
He wasted his talent trying to be a thug; he should have concentrated on being a football player. You hope he can straighten out his life; but he looks and acts like a lost cause.

Eeesh… I was so bought by his HBO “woe is me” letter to the commish, too. Ah well… some men just can’t be accounted for. And in my experience, by “some” I mean “most.”

this is bulshit. none of this info is new, it wasn’t enough to warrant an indictment at a time when the man was probably public enemy #1 (one week after the shooting in vegas!?!), and yet, espn is running around patting themselves on the back like they just uncovered hoffa’s corpse.
pac-man deserves everything he receives in life. at best he’s an asshole, at worst, a very dangerous human being. he’s lucky all he has to worry about is whether he can play football again. but with that said… it’s not like the feds missed this information. all espn has done is read aloud evidence that had already been researched and gathered. why does it warrant outrage? if the idiots in charge of the nfl deemed him worthy of playing again after he basically left a man paralyzed… why is a situation that was investigated by professionals, from the same time period as the vegas situation, the straw that broke the camel’s back? i just dont get it.
maybe im just sick of watching these boso’s on espn act like this is a ground-breaking moment in journalism.
