Soulja Boy’s ascension to fame was mostly due to perfect timing but his inability to stay lovable, or even likeable for that matter, completes the full circle of the fluke. Getting robbed at gun point is no laughing matter but when the people are saying you deserved — solely of the quality of your music, something’s gotta give.

Let this be a lesson to you rappers who started rapping before the video even finished playing. If Soulja Boy (who holds the digital download record) can’t strike platinum, neither will you.
