As a blogger/writer, I consider myself never to be @ a loss of words. Ever.
But I think the latest entry in the Pac-Man Jones story has left me speechless by the sheer fuckery ignorance involved. Following his career since he was a rookie with the Titans until now, I think he’s finally crapped out. Perhaps not in the judiciary system, but definitely with the League.
In case you haven’t been keeping up with it.
1. Adam “Pac-Man” Jones was released by the Cowboys on Wednesday.
2. ESPN let the cat out of the bag that Jones was involved in ANOTHER shooting in June 2007, only months after the infamous “make it rain” shooting in Las Vegas that got him in hot water in the first place. ESPN also claims that the NFL was aware of this second incident. How this was swept under the rug so long is beyond me. Read the rest of this entry »

I’d be a liar if I said I watched Tyler Perry’s Meet The Browns thinking I would enjoy it. I have a pretty low tolerance for mispronounced English, hackneyed jokes, abysmal acting, and an even lower tolerance for black men in drag; a Tyler Perry mainstay. So instead of setting the bar unfairly high, I watched the double feature premiere of Meet The Browns in comparison to Perry’s movies and the “most popular cable television sitcom,” House Of Payne. While House of Payne is just not my cup of tea, Meet The Browns had one of the most offensively poor sitcom premieres I have ever watched, making House of Payne look like reasonable entertainment.
I’m not sure who is loving his stuff, but the audience is huge and — as poor as this show was — shows no signs of slimming. Perry’s shows account for half of the black sitcoms Read the rest of this entry »

Common courtesy would have been to allow the young lady to finish before disrupting her, thus giving her a chance to at least wipe. But there’s no guarantees that she had plans of doing that anyways because if you listen closely you can hear Read the rest of this entry »

You’ve supported my projects in the past and I’ve done the same for TSS, so I wanted to send this through to you. I put together a pretty nice compilation of Kid Cudi material that I think your readers would enjoy…along with the sick artwork which I attached. If I could get a pop on your site, that would be awesome! If not, it’s cool…keep doin what you do!

What started out as a protest over the killing of Oscar Grant by BART officer Johannes Mehserle, escalated into a riot in Oakland.
As socially irresponsible as it sounds, I’m glad to see a few cop cars get turned over & some bottles get thrown. Read the rest of this entry »
As if each year hasn’t gotten progressively bigger for Mick Boogie and his PNC Terry Urban and 2008 wasn’t a banger, 2009 is set to continue their rise to prominence. The Wonder Twins are taking their music & skills to Shade 45. Read the rest of this entry »

When it comes down to it, Blu is probably the best rapper out of the up and comers. He might not have the most mainstream acceptable music, but you’d be hard pressed to find a subpar verse from the Southern California resident. His lyricism has shined through on each of his three retail albums he’s put out in the last two years, regardless of your feelings on the production.
His most accessible album to date has to be Below The Heavens, which was the highlight Read the rest of this entry »

Yesterday I was bouncing to Roger and Zapp’s Greatest Hits in the whip, wishing Charlie Wilson’s classical voice had graced more of the late, great Mr.Troutman’s work than just “Computer Love.” Today, I stumbled across DJ Envy’s reworked version of that very song, called “Download,” featuring Lil Kim, Teddy RuksPain and the man himself, Uncle Charlie. Grandmaster Flash. Definitely not a name you expect to hear in 2K9 (let alone with a song titled “Swagger,”) but the pioneer is back looking to spread new messages in a new generation. Read the rest of this entry »
There’s been a considerable amount of buzz surrounding The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and its chances at winning multiple Oscars this award season. Thanks to a little bit of free time and the influx of DVD screeners flooding the net, I was able to catch the movie from the comfort of my couch. After watching the film, I’ve formed a hypothesis: F. Scott Fitzgerald turns over in his grave every time someone watches The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Read the rest of this entry »
