The above is a video of the Bay Area Rapid Transit Police executing Oscar Grant.
At some point one has to wonder what the purpose of all this is. I’m sure police are doing a lot of good that isn’t been documented. But they are doing a lot more bad, on and off paper.
2009 has barely gotten to a start and we already have another unwarranted murder.

That’s definitely some fucked up shit. The police have no excuse for that. My condolences for dude’s family.
There are plenty of Police that are doing a great job; it is a shame the rotten ones get all of the press; but there have to be better screenings to weed out the bad cops. My deepest condolences to his family.

Cold, blooded, murder!!! I had to rewind the clip almost indefinitely because I thought that my mind was playing tricks on me. I’m especially vexed at the fact that the cop played it all cool at the end like nothing happened. I hope that the family gets justice, but no amount of financial compensation will bring him back or stop this bullshit.

^It doesn’t look like the gun misfired. This looks and I believe is cold blooded murder. What could Mr. Grant have said while having weapons drawn on him that could invoke that much fear that the officer had no choice but to fire his weapon?

Apparently they have the cop in police protection now because he was receiving death threats. i know they beef up security on New Year’s on BART, and I took it on New Year’s last year. It gets pretty rowdy but that cop knew exactly what he was doing when he shot Mr. Grant, and then dragged his body aside like it was nothing. I hope the police protection he gets is as brutal as the kind he was dishing out on New Year’s.

First of all everyone, it wasn’t the Oakland police, it was BART(public transportation I guess) officers that were involved in this situation…..
Secondly, the officer that fired the shot came from out the picture, he was walking back n forth looking for someone to harass…..
Thirdly, I think you may be some type of government/domestic official cause there is no excuse nor scenario that can account for this type of abuse/fuckery, no matter how much ‘facts’ come from this situation. Before Mr.Grant was in slaughtered, after he was in custody , he and his co-defendants were being assaulted by these officers. The.man.was.in.custody.point.blank.period!

I watched one of the interviews of a witnessed that taped the whole altercation (her video was like 4-6 minutes long) and she said that the Mr.Grant and his cohorts were fighting, granted its New years they probably was intoxicated. It may have been the officers son, nephew, or family member that was involved in the beat down. So he may have been a little agitated and fired up, but yeah all enforcement officials are taken through professional evaluations to see if they are physically, mentally, and emotionally ready to deal with not only the public but the threat of being a walking target…..

i know for a fact that no police officer is trained to do that, i can’t stress enough that its not an institutional thing, its just some bad, evil seeds…and i didn’t mean that he could have possibly provoked the shooting by saying something, i meant the cops themselves, whether or not they discussed tazing him before the shot was fired, or if the shooter said i’ma shoot him…i would love to know what was really going on in dude’s mind to think pulling a gun was necessary…and believe it or not, cops who’ve used the “oh i thought my gun was my taser” defense have actually gotten off of murder raps…so many unanswered questions that will stay that way…the victim is dead and the cops have no doubt by now articulated the incident the best they can to cover their own ass…damn shame
i just watched the video again…another cop comes in with a tazer at the end, to keep the other suspects back….this makes sense…why you would need to escalate the use of force on a HANDCUFFED AND ON THE GROUND suspect i can’t even begin to explain…a life was lost and all the other cops who were doing their job are fucked because of this guy…also it looks like after the shooting somebody off scree told the train conductor to get his ass and all the other witnesses out of there pronto…

the video i saw showed the female officer trying to confiscate the cameras and the girl was like nah, hell nah until the conductor closed the doors, but then the conductor opened the doors back up and she ran out on to the platform to tape some more, no thats a ridah oh damn how i love cali chicks!!

Yea that happened to me when I was only 15, the officer called for back cause he said I waved a concealed weapon in front of his face, although it was only a black n mild, he waited until his back up came to try and put his hands on my so I throw that bitch off me and it took 3 of those pussy to get me down and handcuff me…. In court he continued to say he felt threatened blah blah, it was past my curfew (when it was only 10:55 on the police report), but he didnt know that the shorty I was out with was the districts’ captain daughter and she testified on my behalf…. That pussy ass officer got transfered to a different district, I got put into juvenile jail for resisting arrest, aggravated assault on a officer, criminal mischief and a bunch of other shit that was dropped in preliminaries….Than I got the chance to see that pussy without his uniform, but he still had his k-9 with him so I aint get the chance to retaliate like I imagined when I was booked….

I think we should organize a boycott of BART for the same length of time it takes them to arrest the person they employed to murder Oscar Grant. I would suspect the revenue supports the salaries of the killers they employ. Why would we continue to pay their salary when they are killing innocent citizens? I also believe BART is a government agency so why would we continue to knowingly give money to the same people who are doing nothing to ensure this murderer is locked up.
