For Reference Only…
GENERAL By Beware on January 8, 2009 at 6:30 pmThe great Aftermath push of 2009 is in full swing, as another track has leaked from the camp. There was the 50 and Eminem/Dre/50 joint. Now apparently, a little Detox is order.
This time around it’s 50 a.k.a Ferrari, Bishop Lamont and The Love Weatherman, R Kelly. There’s some speculation as to whether or not it’s another reference track for Detox, and there’s enough evidence present to further the investigation. With a Dre-inspired theme and Bishop delivering deeper than usual, Fif repeatedly boasts from get, “It’s D-R-E and 50,” with no mention of Mr. Lamont at all.
Aside from that, Kels says,” I be smelling my shit, too…” on the hook.
At this point, what else should we expect?

dope
I was in the studio with Dre, Em, Snoop, etc etc during the recording of 2001 and The Marshall Mathers LP and Dre is so hands on.
But even though I was there with those who wrote his verses (and also there when he rejected Jigga’s first attempt at “Still D.R.E.”)…
These reference tracks are taking away from the masterpiece that I know Detox is going to be.
I have a TON of leftover tracks from the 2001 sessions (Dre would burn me copies without worry).
Have those tracks EVER surfaced?
Never.
Whoever is doing this needs to be checked.
Dre does have a lot of people around while he is working…
But this is ridiculous.
(And I have a good idea as to who it is)
On Just Blaze’s live studio feed last night, he was talking on the phone to someone and said something about some German DJ hacking people’s emails, and Dre’s name was mentioned. So there may be more stuff out there.
@ TRA
Would you give 2001 5 Cigs?
5 Cigs no doubt!
It was a masterpiece as it was being created…
And a masterpiece when it was completed.
Placed my faith back in music (west coast especially) and made me smile from beginning to end when the final sequencing was all said and done.
Agreed.
I was just listening the other day and was thinking how it had the game in a flurry when it dropped. It set a standard for production that still hasn’t been topped in the last decade. That’s why we’re still waiting for Detox
Oh yeah TC, ask someone who is clearly a friend, that doesn’t bias the results at all.
and YUCK at this track.
@ jesse h.
Friend of Dre?
Nah.
We were recording at the same facility is all (though some who worked on the album are friends).
Biased?
When it comes to music?
Never.
(If that were the case… The Marshall Mathers LP would also get 5 cigs from me. I place it at 3 1/2 at best)
You could be my best friend who I have known since I was born and if the music is not good…
I am being brutally honest with you – even if it means it is going to hurt the friendship.
I know good music.
2001 was/is great music.
Peace
tra do you post at dubcnn?
(And I have a good idea as to who it is)

It wouldn’t happen to start with S and end with a tat Quo would it?
B-)
MMLP can get the 4. Pretty enjoyable the whole way through…
2001 is a whole carton of cigs.
TRA, no disrespect meant. It is great music. But its a 4.5. Plenty of great music is.
*smirks*
Lol @ Amp. and TC, if this argument moves to the commentboard and ruins ANOTHER night of sleep for me…
Shoot if we believe it’s a disgruntled ex Aftermath artist leaking the music; the list doesn’t end with stat. The easier question is who didn’t leak the music.
@ Petey
Nah. Not sure that I have ever even visited that site (?).
@ TC
I am thinking an assistant engineer to be honest. And 4 cigs for MMLP? Anyone else wish to chime in?
LOL!
@ jesse h.
No disrespect taken! Just attempting to clarify!
All good.
MMLP = 3.5 Cigs
No matter what rating system you use, cigs, stars, mics, etc. MMLP and Chronic have got to be top ranked on all levels. MMLP had everyone thirsting for another EM verse to see what wild shit he could come up with next. While Chronic was a staple in everyones cd/tape deck, record player, ipod or whatever!! !
i wonder if this dude The Real Anonymous is lying. I mean theres no reason to, but u know how some people are. Tight to get some inside info if he’s not lying tho
2001 = 4.5+, prolly 5.
MMLP = I don’t fuck w/Em albums lol.
@gotty how could you not fuck with em albums?
thats good music LikeItOrNot
Chronic 2001 = 5 cigs
MMLP = 4.5 cigs
both still get regular burn on the sizystem
TC, Jesse, Amp, Teef…
my sleep was ALL messed up! (NH)
another Chronic2001 discussion?! No…. not that!
@ TC
“It wouldn’t happen to start with S and end with a tat Quo would it?”
doubt it 4 2 reasons…
1) it doesnt benefit him now or in the future to ruin whats left of their relationship by leaking these tracks (plus he didnt do any writing/referencing on these leaked tracks anyway)…
2) wouldnt he have leaked something he is a part of whether its a detox reference he’s done (he did quite a few for it) or statlanta first since everybody always asks him about this album (which is very good by the way…heard it 2 yrs ago and em and dre (notzz) gave him some shit)
i think its an engineer/intern or interscope (viral marketing)…not too far fetched being that its 2009
2001 = fuckin classic
so if Detox is actually gonna see the light of day….it has very big shoes to fill.
tracks just don’t leak like this…..unless someone got they hands on em and wants to fuck with the artists.
maybe if i just dont listen to any of the leaks, ill be better off.
and i was gonna say MMLP is 4.5 , but i went back and listened to find something about it i don’t like (ken kaniff skit? – which is actullay funny)..and i can’t find anything, 5.
2001 is a classic no doubt.
Gotty not fucking with Em albums..hmmm, funny thing is I never really have & never played any Em when DJ’ing either. Thats not to say its not good music, it is….well when Em aint fucking with Akon or making shit pop records.
When Em does Hip Hop he does it well.
Dre makes beats to sound good sonically. Bottom line is even if you aint a fan of west coast stuff you cant deny a Dre beat.
Peace
