“Cali” is the lead single from his upcoming release, Hi Power Pimpin, which features Chicano emcee Mr.Capone-E and is aptly titled. Over a bouncy bass line and high-pitched gangsta whistle, E and Free spit about the luxuries of living that Leftcoast lifestyle that makes us Midwesterners cold and resentful.

Dope as Free sounds over the knocking beat, though, the rerun theme leaves listeners feeling as though they’ve heard the song 100 times before the first spin.

Fans of the Pomona Pimp should appreciate it nonetheless.
