Coming from Toronto, Canada, seventeen year old Jahvon definitely has a bright and rhythmic future ahead of him.

His team sent me a new freestyle of him today with Mr. Kardinal Offishall on Polow’s beat for Rich Boy’s “Drop” record. It made me take notice. Being that I am from Toronto and write for several publications, I’m supposed to know about EVERY rapper on the face of this country…but unfortunately it’s kind of hard to keep up with this and THAT (the USA). While I was very familiar with Jahvon and some of his music, (Mainly a track/video he released last year featuring Lincoln, Rochester & Mhedic from the Foundation Group, titled “Turn it up” produced by Tone Mason) I still hadn’t taken a lot of his music in. After listening to the “Drop” freestyle, I thought I’d check him out to form a better judgment. Three songs in and here I am.

Writing a brief note about how dope I think he is. His manager Stirling, also told me that his first mixtape, Billboard Bound was recorded and mixed by Jahvon in his bedroom. He worked two jobs to press two thousand copies for a high school talent show and sold all of them in three days. He’s got the hustler’s spirit that’s for sure. He’s off to a good start & I’m sure he is going to learn, grow and develop a lot more. For more info visit www.jahvon.com.
