As a Nets fan, I thought I didn’t have much to look forward to going into this season. Maybe they’d win a couple more games than last year but that would be about it. I was especially skeptical of Devin Harris. Sure, he’s quick and was good for 15 and 6. Not to mention I was tight about him getting’ shook by some bloke off the street. All jokes aside I didn’t think he was ready to lead the team.

This is one of those rare cases where I’m happy as hell to be wrong.

Dude is averaging 25 and 6 right now and leading the team to a 11-10 start. If you want to talk numbers, he’s dropped 38 on AI, 34 on Deron Williams and 47-7-9 on Nash (to be fair we all know Nash plays suspect D.) All of those games ended in W’s; not to mention they lost 3 in a row without him earlier in the season.

Devin Harris Dunks On Chris Anderson

If you just looked at the names on the roster (outside of Harris and Carter, of course) you’d think the Nets would have no business being above .500 right now. Yi is inconsistent at best and Brook Lopez has his moments but he’s just a rookie. I understand that it’s early in the year and everything. Plus it helps that Washington, Philly, and Toronto are messin’ up right now. Hopefully the Nets can steal a playoff spot and Harris gets an all star nod this season if he keeps this up. I mean c’mon. Odds are he’s probably playing better than your favorite point guard so far.
