Along with CBR, you can add her to the list of female artists that I’m patiently waiting to hear some new music from. I’ve played Even Closer & Change It All to death ever since Gotty™ put her on my radar back in the Blogger days. I even bought them since he wouldn’t post links. What I like most about her is her ability to convey emotions through her voice. It’s strong, but not stripped and over-polished. When she sings about joy you feel it, when she sings about heartbreak and pain you feel it. Her music has a realness to it that a lot of what they try to pass off for R&B today lacks. You can call it Neo-Soul, Soul, R&B – whatever. I just need more of it. So whenever she drops a new album it’ll be copped without question.

her voice is soooo beautiful!!! and she’s easy on the eyes too.. I wouldnt mind seeing her in person!
She’s attractive so that wasn’t a swipe. & of course, you know me – I’d poke hehe. She aint hippie in terms of being on stage barefoot & hairy. She’s earthy, indeed. Sultry & her voice exemplifies that.

saw Amel in Los Angeles last year… 3rd time i’ve seen her. And her crazy husband does the same thing at every show. paces the crowd staring at any guy who seems to be checking her out. dude’s got issues.
Quest had a funny story about this on his blog and from everybody i know who’s seen her live, it’s the same deal. He’s like one of those tennis parents stalking the crowds…
She’s Sooooo Dope!!! Seen her many of times!!! Most recently @ the Warfield in SF with NAS last week!!!
Goapele opened this past Friday for Nas at the Warfield in SF. Just the two of them on the bill. She performed with only a background singer and ShortKut as her dj.
