The high pitched fella from Philly finally found it in his heart to address the battle with Cassidy.
It’s been about 5 years since Cassidy tore this dude a new hole to shit through, and I guess he’s just now recovering.
You don’t need to have studied Psychology to see this dude manifesting symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder. His voice completely lost all confidence after that battle, and he’s perpetually been on the verge of crying since. Plus word is that he’s got a vicious limp, and twitches crazy.
I’d like to see how he acts around Cass; he probably treats dude like the King of Zamunda.
[Scene]
Cassidy: Yo Free, what’s cracking?
Freeway: (stands at attention) Greetings Sir.
Cassidy: Yo, let’s do a track together, fam.
Freeway: Sir, yes, sir.
Cassidy: Here’s a quarter, go get me some Cheetos and a Dr. Pepper. Get yourself some Tic-Tacs too.
(Freeway bows, takes money, and walks backward, bowing in thanks ever few steps)

^^^ not for the faint of heart…read the story and watch the video
People like Free dont they? He’s been doing some good shit as of late also, track a day and no mention of it on TSS?
^ The “Month of Madness” has been some ill shit. I can already pick 15 tracks that would’ve made a dope ass album from that collection…. and the month isn’t even up yet.
His voice just … just… ahhhhh!
Don’t make a difference though, Free has better albums.
Yo Contra u’s a foo, mann….HHAHAhAhAHHAHA
On an unrelated note, I think it would be a CRIME and if Royce’s “Shake This” doesn’t get on rotation in some major markets.
Well atleast niggas is skippin the fronti and stickin to keepin it real. As a man and a professional in rap you’d be hard pressed to see someone really say “yea he tore me up” but thats about as close as I would say a raper that I respect would come to addressing something like that. I never knew that was the same night as the HOT97 shit.
all in all tho Cass got em…. wow
“put a beat on”
I’m waiting on the month of madness to be over so some wonderful soul can put them all in one file. it’s been hell trying to grab all the damn songs.
People like Free dont they? He’s been doing some good shit as of late also, track a day and no mention of it on TSS?
================
It’s no diss to Free. I can only speak for myself that I’m almost tired of rapper’s overdoing it a little. Crook crushed the whole weeklies thing. Nobody’s gonna be able to even come close to following suit.
“I’m waiting on the month of madness to be over so some wonderful soul can put them all in one file”
Okay, I’m Done.
I actually got to see the tape like a couple of days after it happened. This is before Cassidy was signed as a solo artist, when he was still just a member of Larsiny. My brother (who was engineering for Ruff Ryders & had been down with Dee & Waah from day one) was hyping dude up like he was as ill as Kiss & me being the pessimist I am, I needed to see some proof. I had heard Cass on a couple demo’s for Ryde Or Die Vol. 2, but he didn’t really standout from the other members of the group. I remember my brother calling me from the spot like there was gonna be a battle & Swizz had Jay & the rest of the Roc in the studio. Afterwards, He came home and was super hyped, like Cass just ate the dude from “1-900-Hustler”, cause at the time, I was bumping that Dynasty album non-stop. He told me they videotaped it, but Swizz had the tape, but he was gonna try & get a copy. I remember seeing it & being blown away. I’d heard a couple of songs from Larsiny, but this was like another dude completely. The way he came at Free (nh) was unlike any battle I had seen before. Technically prescise, aggressive, with punchline after puchline. If it wasn’t for Free already being signed to The Roc, his career would have been over before it even started.
I think you’re exaggerating. Come on, his career being over before it started? I doubt that.
Cass kilt him in the battle I used to be a huge cass fan now I’m really not and both of Frees Albums got way more burn then the three Cass albums
He got embarrassed. If he didn’t already have a deal, who woulda fucked with him after that battle?
that battle is so fuckin hilarious. Free must not have known how to battle cause he sound like he was spittin in the booth
For the record Cass’s last album is slept on, has some real nice tracks.
That was part of the problem.. Freeway wasn’t really a battlecat, its a different world and he got stepped into like a cab.
Would his career got started after that battle if he wasn’t already signed .. ??
For me I think he would have been AT least 4 to 6 years in the wilderness trying to recover. As you can see from the session @ Hot97 that was before.. he has something but he was smart enough to not use that stuff. Because he would REALLY have gotten twisted up.
Cass shoulda blew with “I’m A Hustla”, his best album to date. He got booked on that murder rap right before it dropped so he never really got a chance to promote it properly & “B-Boy Stance” was a weak choice for a 2nd single. He’d be better off on a real label, cause Swizz is not an executive & J Records has no idea how to handle/market Hip-Hop. I hear he’s got some sorta deal with Carmelo Anthony right now, so I think the chances of his next joint doing numbers is pretty bleak.
“The high pitched fella from Philly finally found it in his heart to address the battle with Cassidy.”
i love the alliteration.
there’s no doubt Cass killed Free in that battle but I think it’s safe to say Free’s career>>>>>>Cassidy’s
Cassidy’s last album is trash
Free At Last was crack though.
