TC
TC is to The Smoking Section like trees are to branches and cliffs are to avalanches. He lives for the funk as well as ensuring Hip-Hop culture always has a definitive voice. Or something like that. Sounded good though, right? He's on Twitter if you're oh-so inclined @The_TSS_TC.
He’s kind of like a straight to dvd version of Shabba Ranks, who in turn is like a straight to dvd version of Maxi Priest, who in turn is a straight to dvd version of Snow.

@ Baby Paw: HA HA HA!!! Nice one!!!
@ TC: When will you realize that this ninja is wiggity-wiggity-wiggity wack???!!! This whole hiphop/reggae infused style is garbage man, he needs to stop it. I think I need to start posting some material by ninjaz from around the way who truly put on for my city.

Oh.Wee.Dee.
Damn, no love for Kardinal north of the border, Flea? lol

@ Oh Wee: He gets love (no homo) from a lot of circles up here, but a majority of ninjaz in the hood (some even in his own hood) ain’t feeling him. I mean, they respect his grind/hustle and the fact that he’s made it intnernationally, but like me don’t really dig his music too much. You must understand that homie has been out for a loooooooooong time, and this is the best that he can come out with after taking such a long hiatus between albums??? Weak in my little opinion.

Greumsy Gives Up The Greums
even if new sean paul new album iz pushed back,
that would be a flop… in this time of recession.
so kardinal ain’t his time now. maybe offishal for his next album
under Konvict Muzik !

Black Canseco
true, but that one mixtape he dropped a couple years ago was fiya… i think green lantern or clinton sparks put it together.
i always though kardinal was nice with it. same for saukretes–who had plenty of 16s but never that great song(s).
so who else is nice up north? K-os?

@ Conseco: Saukrates is that dude!!! He’s been a little silent as of late though. So far the cats that I like up here are Point Blank, Mayhem Morearty, and Suni Clay. There’s talent up here and it’s just waiting to get exposed. Nuff respect to Marco Polo.

That Clinton Sparks tape (Do The Right Thing) was really dope, and I had been a fan for a while, but I knew when he signed with Konvict the results weren’t going to be good. I kept my fingers crossed, but that first single made me give up on dude. He has been out a long time, though. I remember getting into him and the Rascalz around the same time.

500K i’ll look for some of those other cats.. i’m trying to get a little more variety in my life these days… Do he Right Think. that’s it… i was bumping that one forabout a month nonstop… then my iPod crashed and i lost everything–had to start over, search my backups, etc…

@ Conseco: Damn Apple!!! If it wasn’t for my iphone I would have absolutely nothing to do with ‘em!!! Got that Blackberry Storm, so much for it being the “iphone killer”. Not a bad device, just has a few tech bugs to work out though.

I’m just waiting for his latest effort to air-ball.
I like Kardi, but I won’t front… I expected Not 4 Sale to be a lot better than what it was. I like his flow, but some of the production was weak.

@ Baby Paw: “Eye Lick Your Poom Poom Down” LOL!!! You’re talking about Snow no doubt??? Ha Ha Ha!!! That dude used to live in my old hood, he still comes around frequently too!!! INFORMAH, YUH KNOW SEH DADDY SNOW DEM A GO……ahhh to hell with that!!! LOL!!!
All the singles are straight. It’s just that everything else on the album goes straight to the trash can. Shoulda put out an EP lol.

Flea, yeah the SNOW man!
I envisage that SNOW is well minted?
Him and MC Shan must have made some serious royalties off Informer, enough to live comfortably for the rest of their living days.
Sean Paul, AKON and Kardinall Offishall’s probably all wish they were SNOW or Shaggy.
But everybody knows that no one can touch SNOW or Shaggy.
Heck they aren’t even Mad Lion or Born Jamericans.
Maybe, if Kardinall did a cover version of Ini Kamoze’s ‘Here Comes The Hotstepper’ then there is a chance that he would become a supa dupa star like Lil Dap and The Nutcracker. Jeah like Eiht!

@ Paw: Yeah, does aiiiight for himself. He had a big following down in Jamaica believe it or not!!! He did a few singles in yard with some well-respected artists, kept doing shows and production, so I guess he’s 100. At least he didn’t end up like Maestro Fresh-Wes. Michee Mee is still my future wifey though.

Ragga
@ Baby Paw — Maxi Priest is a straight to dvd version of Snow. What r u smoking? That’s kind of like saying Usher is a straight to dvd version of some random rapper. I think some of Kardi’s tracks are alright, some are throw away.

Flea, yeah that Murder Love album has got nice tunes on it, folks just seem to remember him for Informer. But good on the guy I’m glad he is doing well for himself.
What happened to Maestro Fresh Wes? I didn’t hear about that, dude has some slammin tunes though with K-Cut, Sir Scratch and I seem to recall did a couple of mini gems with Showbiz as well.
Ah Michie Mee, ha ha that brings back memories, Dream Warriors, Choclair, Frankenstein, Saukrates, Solitaire, Kemo, Da Grassroots, yeah I used to check for some of them Canadian artists a few years ago. Dream Warriors were tight, wash your face in my sink! :)
@Ragga, all I’m saying is that Snow was a bigger and more impactful artist than Maxi Priest! :P
Hmm, in fact I’m gonna go check for some Maxi Priest right now, preferably that cover version he did of that Yusuf Islam song………..ooooh baby baby it’s a wide world, dunna dunna dunna dun dun!
